Some of you may have seen the video for their first single "Slither" by now. For those who haven't, it's Duff McKagan and Slash from Gn'R with Scott Weiland on vocals...and a couple other guys. They did a good job of making a video that should appeal to the kiddies, and the lighting is pretty flattering on Duff and Slash so you can't really tell they're as old as they are. Neither has aged poorly, but we know how much these kids hate old people.
It's a cool group. Scott does and always has creeped me out a little. Now he's got Sid's hair and Iggy Pop's pants. Not a horrible combination...just a little disturbing on him.
Check 'em out (the downloads page with three songs and the Slither video)
Amazing to see a guitar driven song on television for once.
EDIT: Perhaps I should mention... They're hard rock. Bunch of talented guys. 'Bout time someone like Slash showed up back on mtv to remind people you can play more than two power chords in a song. And hopefully this looks and sounds modern enough to get some airplay. More than Aerosmith got, at least. SO CLICK. I'm on a Duff promotion campaign.
and do share what you think of 'em. I won't be offended if y'all think they suck. Well, unless you insult Duff, but that's another matter entirely. Oh, Lasher, Duff grew his hair back. I'll take that as a resounding "Shut the fuck up" (first Brides of Destruction single, as it so happens, but I won't bother promoting them, either).
I'll remember to be too lazy next time anyone else wants to show me something new.
Duff hates you all.

Slash rocks, and if I had heard anymore songs other than the ones on the so-called "Greatest Hits" C.D. Sorry...................... _________________ Not all who wander are lost.

Still doesn't answer my question of people's opinion on Velvet Revolver.
Come on, people. They rock! Duff and Scott are half naked. And Scott's kinda hot (kinda?). And Iggy Pop pants. Good music, Slash solo, and gyrating skinny boys?
I like Scott's voice. First one I've heard (from a newly formed band) that sounded like a man and not a whiny teenager in a long time. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

You could watch it in the link up there. Well, unless you're on dialup. Then the quality probably sucks. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

i like them! i heard them on the radio a little while ago (couldn't tell you what song, i guess "slither" if that's the single) and i thought they were good! scott weiland's awesome (and o yes definitely kinda hot), and of course you can't go wrong with slash and duff there. i haven't seen the video, tho, so i'll go download it now and tell you what i think after i watch it... yea... _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

bah sorry it took me so long. my comp was being mean last nite and wouldn't let me see it. but wow that was an awesome video! i like scott weiland he's a cool dude. i love his strange dance moves. and lol the shiny gold pants! i don't like his hair, tho. it's too mullet-y. he should cut it in the back or let it cover his forehead. i liked when slash was getting all into it on that guitar solo-thing, too. the video was shot really well- i liked the atmosphere. and it's a really great song! i'm gonna listen to the others on that site now... _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

I like his hair a lot better than it was when he jumped on the grunge bandwagon years ago. But I agree it'd look better if it was a little lower in the front. And shiny Iggy Pop pants are very nice...
Must get their CD now. Now if only Izzy liked touring and agreed to join it would've been great. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

lol well i've only seen his hair when it's short. i have the video for stp's "days of the week" and i watch it all the time. and his hair is short in that and in all the pics i've seen of him... odd
yea they are really really good! i listened to the other songs. i like the "money" cover. i gotta listen for it next time i watch the italian job (good movie). "set me free" is cool, too. sounds familiar. i guess i remember it from the hulk. aww why are the songs cut off tho? there's only like a minute or less of them! lol always leave 'em wanting more, i guess _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

Most people haven't 'cause they're new. Well, unless you follow the massive amounts of press releases about 'em. And Scott's problems with staying out of rehab. That guy's such a fuck up.
Duff and Slash actually made a very smart move getting him as the singer instead of someone like Jizzy Pearl, though, since Scott's more or less still mainstream and popular enough to make them a modern band instead of being labeled something from 1989.
VH1 is supposedly doing a Behind the Music style history of Gn'R (don't think they called it BTM in the press release, but that's basically the format), only Axl wasn't mentioned as participating. And since those specials are always timed so well as to promote a new record or project, it's pretty obvious they'll be promoting Velvet Revolver. Kinda a shame that it'll undoubtedly be very one sided without Axl. Even if Slash and Duff haven't been ones to talk much shit over the past ten years, it'd still be more interesting to watch Axl blame everyone else. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. lol don't worry about it. none of my friends have heard of them, either. i've known about them for months, and i was talking to my friend about how the stone temple pilots broke up and scott weiland went to sing for velvet revolver, and she didn't even know that stp had broken up in the first place. but now you've heard of them, so you can go and impress all your uninformed friends! _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

It's not out yet. Release date is June 8th, but you can preorder it off most online store sites (bestbuy.com, etc).
