There's like 8 billion ways to blend acrylics. The glazing thing never worked for me. Nor has wet on wet 'cause they don't stay wet long, and I don't like gel medium much. So I do it "wrong" and dry brush. Put the paint down, rinse and dry the brush quickly, then feather it.
But then, I paint small.
That's what I do. :0 It works nicely sometimes, but other times it completely backfires. =( _________________ FAC |

Layers are really easy. I use about a billion of them whenever I use oC. Which is one of the issues I'm having right now, oC won't let me save anything with layers in it (and that's what I meant when I said oC hates me with the passion of a thousand suns...)~
Basically, layers make it so that when you colour one area, it doesn't affect other areas of the picture, plus, if you're more of a graphic artist that traditional when it comes to style andd usage of media, then you can use layer effects. They can be nice sometimes, but you have to be quite good to make it not blatantly obvious... :O
I'd help more, but I actually gotta get to school now. :x _________________

I'm drawing a monkey. This is as far as I've gotten at the moment, but the rest of the picture will remain a surprise until I'm done. _________________ |

Nice, but I think the cool colors are way too saturated, try moving the color bars and see how it looks. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

Meh...I haven't been spending a lot of time with this, since I only draw in art class and work on pointless stuff at home...
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/6856/angel2qx.gif -image is pretty big, so beware.
Yeah, it looks finished, but I've pondering for half an hour that there seems to be something missig from this that I need to add... _________________ Makes you wonder, doesn't it? |

I just started on a character profile but I like it. She looks a bit like Misuzu from AIR though, and I really didn't mean for that to happen. I didn't even notice till a while ago...

Oof, this is about 4 1/2 hours in the making, and my hand is so tired. Anyways, I still need a background/environment to put her in, plus throw this into photoshop for some snazzy lighting effects and what not. If anyone is up for drawing a background let me know.

Best of luck.
Will, do you plan illustrating professionally? If not, you should consider it. _________________ |
