Something that isnt headache inducing...
The Arcade Fire, it's an aquired taste for some, but it actually has a nice sound and feel to it. Though, in my opinion, you really just find a few songs of their's you like and stick to them.
Though if you want something that's generally 'wtf' but still pretty nice sounding, Xiu Xiu is good, as is Deerhoof, but Deerhoof could be considered more improvised than Xiu Xiu..And Xiu Xiu lacks the 'Faust-ish but with a small japanese woman as the vocalist' stylings of Deerhoof.
Sufjan Stevens is pretty good, but somewhat depressing. D: Crying in the back of your van with friends? Grow some balls dude. Still nice folky-sounding rock.
NOTE: ALL OF THESE BANDS SING IN ENGLISH HARLFSHSDLFHDSIFENDSFDJDSFEEDSDCVNLSGHDSFJGNS. :woot:
EDIT: btw, lists suck. a bit of description next to each artist would probably help more than counting on people to find your music taste superior just by reading the same band names over and over again. _________________ |

Or, one could go to msn music, and simply sample songs. _________________

MSN is for fags. And who would go through all of the effort when you could just get it off of P2P in like, two minutes VS registering for MSN?
And also, it would make everybody who hasnt had their ears raped by music they dislike live's so much easier. _________________ |

I'm currently listening to From Autumn to Ashes' album- Abandon Your Friends. It's an interesting album because half of the songs are screaming and half of the songs are slower. Very catchy songs and lyrics.
I'm also listening to Blackalicious- The Craft. Very good album, some people say they've gone commercial but all the songs are great and you can nod your head to it.
I've also been into Chevelle recently. |

There is a site where you can find new music to listen to. You can type in a style of artist or song that you like to listen to and they will find something that is similar but different, that way you will always probably like what you find!!
pandora.com
Anyways if I had to suggest a new band I would have to say Fly Leaf. It's a girl band...but they are kind of hardcore, and slightly through a little emoness in it. Check them out. They are alot better than I can explain. |
