I don't know about this...When I say I listen to classical music people usually think I'm some rich snob or something and it makes me sad. I'm not. I've just been raised with it. Sure it's old. And yes, it doesn't have guitars or drums...But it really is beautiful if you listen to it in the right context.
So, does anybody listen to classical music and enjoy it? _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

I like some of it. It's just like any other genre, really; some of it is great, and some of it sucks. _________________ a jelly calypso castle in the sky |

Some classical music I like, but some I just find a bit too busy or fast-paced. I guess the slower classical music is the kind I like. It's not my favorite genre, though. _________________ Ah, so you've decided to read my signature. How DELLIGHTFUL. Now....................................how shall I visually m0l3st your eyes? xD |

yay! This makes me happy. I am finally not the only person who listens to classical music. And I would agree w/ all of you, it has it's ups and downs. St. Arsenic, I haven't heard of Korobeiniki. Is is Russian or what? Since I play the piano I'm a real big fan of Bach and Chopin.
Chopin is my hero. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

Craziness! I love that song and Tetris!
I don't like Russian composers much, though. Rimsky-korsakov and Shastakovich are over rated. Some of the Frenchies (Debussy, Ravel) are over rated too. Otherwise: fair-game.

Chopin's music is nice. I especially like Fantasie Impromptu. Then there's "The Devil's Trill" by Giuseppe Tartini which I very much enjoy.
In general, I like classical music, but I don't enjoy the slower-paced and songs as much. (Yes...I lack extensive musical vocabulary terms in my knowledge.) It truly is beautiful to listen to. I just can't sit still too long in an orchestra concert though. I get too fidgety in very long songs. |

Unfortunetly, I have to sit through some of the songs. I'm an orc dork, second chair viola, and slow songs are our speaciality.
Chopin is very nice. My hero. Right now I'm trying to play the Grande Brillainte Valse I don't know the number and it's very impossible. But that's okay. It's fun.
If anybody's heard of Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Siane(Sp) It's very good too. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

I used to play Piano (6 years) and Viola (2 years), but I compeletely stopped practising music for the sake of my arts. I didn't like playing with other people, too much hassel.
I like my solitude. :)
I have no prejudice on music, right now, I'm listening to some French ballads from Daniel Levi, some evanescence, Placebo, The Soviet national anthem, Katamari Damacy BGM, and Tokyo Ska paradise orchestra, < This one does very good job on classicals, a lot more juvilant than bland European state orchestras. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I enjoy Classical music, not as much as enjoy Jazz, but I do enjoy it to a point. It's definately not my favorite genre, but it's not the worse. I suppose I enjoy it because I've played Piano for about 5 years now, flute for 3, and Sax for 2, so I do like peacefulness..to a point.
Right now though, I'm listening to Russian music, Romanian music, and German music. |

Aww....slow songs? Somehow my sister's friend was able to convince the school orchestra conductor to play videogame pieces. There's going to be One-Winged Angel and some Xenogear songs too.
Grande Brillainte Valse? Hmm...I don't think it's on my Chopin CD. It's cool that you're going for a challenge. Good luck with completing it!
 I'm awfully undecisive with what instruments I play. I went on and off with learning piano, flute, and the violin. I can't exactly remember much from those lessons anymore. I can sight read, but slowly....
Hmm...Danse Macabre sounds very familiar. I'll try to check up on that song. It would be good to hear something new.
(And yay! Katamari Damacy bgm! Those songs easily got stuck in my head for a week.) |

Lest we all forget the classical piece entitled Time's Scar, which finely graced the Playstation platform by the graces of a one Squaresoft, through the ever so popular role playing game called Chrono Cross....
Ahhhh, those violins are ever so soothing to thine soul. I highly recommend the song to anyone who has an adour for classical pieces ^^

I like being a viola. But it's a very lonely instrument, because everyone wants to play the stupid violin. Curses! I also play the bass and the violin and the xylophone (which is really fun). The only instrument that is super tough is the cello. I have no clue why.
I also love jazz. I should start a post on that one too. As a matter of fact, I will...
I usually don't like russian composers. Too many discordant chords, espeacially if you listen to Shastacovich. I really like German music, you can't beat Bach and Beethoven, but some Frenchies are really cool. Erik Satie is neato. A little on the looney side. He gave one of his songs the name "Dance of the Slug" which is really creepy considering slugs don't dance....Last time I heard.
this is cool. People like classical music. I'm content for the day. ^_^ _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

Classical is one of my favorite types of music...I guess its partly because when i was in Russia my family took me to many symphony orchestra concerts plus I'm classically trained, I'm a violinist. I like the band 'bond' if you dont know them I suggest you look them up. My favorite musician of all time is Paganini. I love his music
