The Drop-down Menu. It Kills!

So uh, I recently submitted a piece of fanart and miscategorized it (sort of... I didn't see the Zelda category, so I submitted it under Nintendo) because... the drop-down menu where you choose your category is too freakin' long.
I think it's time to up with... something else.
I'm thinking we have the main categories, and when you choose one of those another drop-down menu appears under it for the subcategories, and so on and so forth. You get the idea.
Or maybe someone else has a better idea. >_>;
Anyway, that's it. ^^;

I always have difficulty with that aswell but I don't think it's a real need for change aslong as you are careful when choosing . But I don't know , maybe they will agree with the suggestion .

It's kinda like my computer- it works, it just... sucks.
I just find it annoying to spend forever trying to categorize my submission. I'm lazy. XD

And it's been being worked on for those months. Rolling eyes

Changing it is not as easy as you think. Give it time, lots of things are set for improvement.

Perhaps what she's getting at is, how long are we going to be kept waiting to see things done? Talk of new features & site improvements is good and all, but is there something that denis can implement sooner than a general "in the future" ?

Granted, denis doesn't exactly talk much about what code he's working on....

We know the dropdown list kills (especially on Firefox, 2000+ entries = lag city), and we've discussed possible alternatives.

There's only one tip I can offer you: Type the first letter of a master category to jump right to its section of the list.
