Hey is there anyone who likes anything that has to do with 80's pop culture? If you do, post here. Just to let you know this is not a pun for the I love the 80's tv specials you see on Vh1. Enjoy the thread!

Did someone call me... ^_^
Well, only certain parts of 80s pop culture. 'Cause a lot of it sucked. But the rest was super.

Yea I understand how you feel. I love 80's pop culture, but there are a few things even I didn't like. I hated smurfs, the movie "The Fly", and the band U2. No offence to the fans of anything that I have just mentioned. I just don't like them. I do like however most 80's songs, any brat-pack movie, the ghost buster movies, and carebears. I am not ashamed to admit I like carebears. |

:)
Motley Crue was in the 80's. Fun fun fun. So was some of Rush, more fun. As well as Skid Row. _________________

Barely. "Skid Row" (the debut) came out in '89. The other 6 albums throughout the 90s.
Baz would kick your ass for saying they were an 80s band. Poor Baz. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

As most people here know, I hate the eighties and mostly anything that came along with them.
John Hughes movies were good though. And although I like Madonna, she can hardly be called a redeeming feature of the '80s
The 60s pwn your ass. _________________ |

Yeah, one year. Go tell Baz that, see how many things he manages to throw at your head before you make it outta there. No really, do it and get it on video. There just isn't enough video of Baz's antics.
They'd be more 80s if the debut was in '89, and they stopped making albums by '92, like a lot of the smaller ones did. But since they released all through the '90s up until recently, they're more '90s than '80s.
The debut is '80s in date and sound, though. The later ones not so much.
Of course, aside from a few select groups (Van Halen, Hanoi Rocks, Motley, etc.), I don't even really pay attention to the 80s until around '86. Early 80s...meh. That's when all the originators were around (Hanoi directly influenced Gn'R before there was a Gn'R, for example. Axl was in their video), but not in very big numbers.
A lot of crappy copycats later, but a bigger number of good to shit. 80s pop was almost cheesier than today's pop, though. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Ain't nothin' wrong with Twisted Sister.
Except maybe Dee's tireless dedication to clean living. Faithful and drug free, what kind of rock star is that? But, the band is in better shape than most any, so...maybe he's got somethin' there. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
