hey all
now i was just wondering. why haven't i told people the few tips i know about singing. and how to do that kind of stuff.
Here's a few tips i remember on how to sing and keep you voice healthy. :P
1. Before you sing ALWAYS warm up. i know it sounds weird but its an excellent way to make sure your voice is working right. i'll give a couple of example's of warming up if you all want them. :P
2. Eat an apple before you sing. I forget what it was but there is a certain something in the apple that coat's your throat and allow's you to sing just that much better. It also helps keep your voice from cracking. IT WON'T STOP IT THOUGH.
3. If your sitting sit up straight. If your standing make sure your not slouched and that your not standing uncomfortably.
4. the most important of them all. Breath with your gut. i know it makes your tummy stick out and believe me i've wanted to keep it in as well. but your stomach is the power house of your voice. you can use it to hold note's and even project them louder. If it still sounds weak then that must be your break. (if you want me to tell you what your break is. i'll explain later if you all want just tell me.
well that's about all for now guys so have fun and as my old high school teacher used to say.
SING IT LOUD, SING IT PROUD. _________________ I'm a bit silly on the goofy side on nonsense. ^_^ |

I didn't know that one. That's odd but I can see the reason behind it ... kind of anyways .. |

Or you could take the Taime approach and be as scratchy and obnoxious as you want as long as you're remotely close to the note you were trying to hit. <3 And flat notes are cool, kids.
All else fails, look hot. Then no one will care. Best advice of all. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

It's true. :(
And if you sound remotely like a member of the Backstreet Boys, please kill yourself in advance.
An all night cocaine binge may possibly inhibit your singing ability the next day. Fake a cold, collect the deposit money, and high tail it to the next town before they hear what an asshole you are.
It always helps to remember to plug your microphone in.
When in doubt, conduct a sing-a-long and casually don't join in. Singing the first couple words then stopping is enough to make people think you're doing it on purpose so they can join in.
If you do the above, please let me kick your ass. ^_^
Always have a beer within arm's distance.
You aren't a good singer unless you can sing while smoking. Extra points if you keep the cigarette in your mouth at all times.
My advice roxxorz. Everything I need to know I learned from Jani Lane. <3
Or...if you wanna sound good...you could take Hawk's advice. Psh. Warm ups and apples, what kind of technique is that? Real singers shoot heroin to warm up. You're behind. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Y'all are such pussies. Who ya singing for? Church?
A hundred drunk bastards don't care what you do as long as you entertain and don't suck too much ass. Since I assume the extent of the singing for most is karaoke bars. If it's bar band, drop the number to 15 super drunk bastards, if that. Maybe just your drunk mommy.
Proper singers make me want to beat them with Blackie Lawless's super huge, super heavy, super ghey mic stand. Unless you're on Broadway, I suppose. Other than that, put the book down, get some personality.
(can you tell I'm a bitter fuck from all the high and mighty assholes who thought they were singing the "right way" and that I was "doing it wrong"? ^_^ ) _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

yes indeedy doo. any hot drink usually does the trick. unless it has caffine in it. Caffine make's you want to drink more water and dries you out :)
Or...if you wanna sound good...you could take Hawk's advice. Psh. Warm ups and apples, what kind of technique is that? Real singers shoot heroin to warm up. You're behind.
It's my techinique that has worked for me since i began singing . I may be an old coot but i'm a good sounding old coot ;)
Also if you eat or drink dairy products before singing. it messes your voice up. so yeah...
Indeed. Milk and dairy product's cause you to make mucus which gather's in your throat. mucus + throat(while singing) = (is very bad).
You need a clear throat to sound your best. You'll sound all horse and like your all clogg'ed up if you do that. May taste good but never have it if you want to sing well :P
That's all for now all.
I'm so proud of you all for bringing up such good topic's. You know more then i thought you all did. :P
Especially you fallen
Catch you later
