| I work at the great and terrible dungeon known as WalMart.
I'm in Electronics. The most asked questions of everyday are:

"Do you have any more Xbox360's? When are more coming in?"

And then that's usually followed by

"You bastards!"

One fellow actually started crying out of frustration.

 | I work in Scotmid. Supermarket about 10 mins away. The job's easy enough, stacking shelves and serving customers. The area the shop's in is a bit crap though. It's fuol of drug users, stereotypical welfare families and old age pensioners wiht nothing better to do than complain about the price of milk. _________________

 | Admissions office at the school. I do the bitch work. Answer the phone, process credit cards, make new student files, process checks, put together the promo bags for various events...
And whatever bonuses there are. $50 for doing refreshments at the open house a couple weeks ago. Another $50 when I do the "home for the holidays" event and talk about the college at my old high school.

Today I played pinball on the computer all day and told people who called that the entire school staff was in a meeting, please call back Monday.

I like it, though, super easy, and I work with fuckin' awesome people. Aside from a couple. The office assistant trained to be a kindergarten teacher and has the personality to match. She drives me crazy. And the dean is typical dean material, which is unusual considering most of the staff of the school are super laid back. He's crazy uptight, but he plays hairmetal and loves my t-shirts (or is staring at my boobs under that excuse, don't really care either way).

The rest of them roxxorz. I love being paid $7.50 to stare at a phone and answer it for ten seconds every hour before transferring the call.

 | A Fred Meyer. Food department. Stocking shelves (usually with emphasis on the dairy section), fielding calls from the checkstands on the store's handheld phones, and maintaining the bottle return area and the four machines in it.
I'm currently working about 40 hours a week, all morning shifts (7AM), because school is in session and I'm just about the only one who can cover that shift at that time of day.

 | Considering how much of a retard I was to take all academic courses and no spares, I don't have time for a job. Plannin' on volunteering somewhere (hopefully soon, like over the winter break), but we'll have to see. _________________

 | LOLZ I'ma find Strata now! There can't be that many Fred Meyers in the town he lives in. I've been there. Many times. I know.
I can prove he's a dragon.

I feel bad for people in retail.
I really do. Having to...walk...and help people. I sit on my ass and hand people off to others. _________________

 | You're right. ^_^
Dealing with angry customers blaming you for things you had nothing to do with, bending over constantly to put things on low shelves, folding the same t-shirt ten times a day when people pick it up and throw it back down...

My chair is big and soft. And there's always candy.

I must put a few miles on my shoes each day just from walking, wheeling carts around, etc. I also put eight miles on my bike per day just for the round trip.

 | By "been there", I mean drove through on the way to somewhere better. Ate. Used a gas station bathroom. Got the hell outta there. Although counting intersections would be some of the best entertainment available. _________________

 | I'm graphics staff at fusion-city.com, but I'm thinking about quitting. I've been getting less than 3 hours a sleep a night, and I'm failing one of my classes, so something has to go and it can't be school or service clubs. If it were summer vacation and I had more free time I'd love it, but right now it's making me hate pixel art because it seems like a chore rather than fun. _________________

He's a jackass. I'd work topless if I thought it'd put him in a nicer mood.

 |
Although counting intersections would be some of the best entertainment available.
Well, when you have one single-screen theater, a YMCA (hooray...), bowling alley (another yaaay), four parks with hardly anything more than grass in them... and Fred Meyer is the local mall.
