Animes Dubbed,censored,missing Some Episodes

Actualy, if you look closely, they switch between the Japanese and english named everyonce in a while. And I didn't buy 'em.. my friend got it for me... Just surprised me that they bothered to release them AT ALL.

The subs suck so bad, it's actualy amusing. I've met people who are trying to learn Japanese by watching it... they're morons..

And yeah... the memory arc sucks...But once again, 4KIDS has cut it down to barely anything.. I no longer watch the dub...

Manga all the way... ^^ Started reading scanalations a year or two ago, and bought the original Japanese manga of the egypt arc at a con last year. My Japanese reading skills aren't that great because kanji are the death of me, but I'm good enough with a ditctionary to get the main gist... And if I'm really confused, there's always a Japanese transfer student handy at my school to explain things I'm too embarrased to ask sensei about. :D

haven't bothered to buy an english manga since...

Even though reading the Japanese can be a pain...I've only taken 3 years of it.. . . . .

They JUST started showing the memory arc here in America, and I'm already disappointed.

You know the guides that young Sugoroku (grandpa) goes into the tomb with? In Japan, they had guns.

In america they had... slingshots. SLINGSHOTS.

You know something's off when Japan HAS the guns, and AMERICA cuts them out...

I am pleased they left the scene in which Bakura runs into a church. Considering it was a place of religion, I was expecting them to edit that out.

And I saw the preview for later episodes... Mahaado sounds more surferdude-like than InuYasha...

I saw half an ep of the memory arc when it first aired...

I considered shooting myself.. Then I decided to shoot my TV... Uneasy

And remember the BIG FINGER replacement for a gun back in the DK arc when the people went after kaiba? Or the "Disc of darkness" during battle city? Now THOSE was pathetic.

I've described the orgingal uncut to a few kids who hated yugioh around the school... They were a bit..scared... at all the changes made...

4kids is the god of horrible dubs. >.o The Sailor Moon dub pisses me off the most, but 4kids didn't dub that. The voices are grating and screechy, and make me want to tear off my ears. Not to mention they actually CHANGED some people's GENDERS. (wtf)

Funimation didn't do the rest of Sailor Moon, Cloverway did. And I remember that ADV did something, release uncut episodes..? Something like that, with Sailor Moon. ADV also was going to own the rights to dub Sailor Moon again..or was it just the Stars season?

Not that im a fan of one piece, but i noticed in episodes, involved with guns they actually change the colour and shape!!! and when kaya takes the shockram from the guy with pink glasses and puts it up ta her throat the guy goes on about how the shockram is soooo powerful it will kill her...give me a break in the originalundubbed version she just says she'll kill herself if he doesn't leave the 3 children alone, and that kuro cant get her money cuz she'll then be dead. This info might have a few errors but oh well!!!

Still haven't seen the subtitled One Piece yet, but I really do want to see it.

But dubbed messes with things. They will cut off scenes because little kids mihgt end up watching something they don't need to see (parents should really watch out with things like this) or it's too inappropriate, like the chosen children from digimon giving gotsumon a beer, but exchanged it for hot sauce, from what I remember.

Plus the quotes people say. I wonder if Takuya ever says "hey buddy" as much as he does, or Naruto saying "believe it". For people who actually did see the subtitled version of it, you know they'll get pissed.

Rough Cuts: The 'Naruto' Edits they'll have to make and the edits they shouldn't.

Have to cut:
1. Blood - Ninja's fight, a lot. Naturally, they bleed a lot. problem is, flowing blood is ano-no for normal broadcasts, so expect to see a lot of airbrushing.

2. Sasuke's sore throat - The gruesome scene from episode 16 where Naruto's fellow ninja-in-training Sasuke gets a handful of needles though his jugular may be exciting, but for network censors, anything alluding to the puncturing will probably be axed.

3. Exploding limbs: Normally, exploding limbs are bad enough, but when they're bursting with bugs, as a sresult of Shino's techniques, the FCC gets a little...antsy. Scissors will be in order for Episoe 40.

Should not cut:

1. Jutsu names - even young kids know about Japan and can handle the original ninja technique names in Japanese. The originaal names sound cooler and could easily be subtitled, so please don't bother.

2. Sexy No Jutsu - the series wouldn't be the same if Naruto couldn't use this titillating transformation technique. HE turns into a naked lady who's vital vits are covered by smoke anyway, so this should stay smoke [or at worst, a digitall added swimsuit] for the sake of all that is funny.

3. Naruto's hand stand - in Episode 8, Naruto stabs his own hand as a display of determination and fearlessness. Edit out the blood if need be, but this scene is crucial to the development of the character.

And by the way, I haven't been keeping up with Naruto - has CN [i]really[/i] edited all that out? I know they haven't edited the Sexu no Jutsu, but, I don't think they showed the handstand...

One anime that they really cut out a lot was The Vision of Escaflowne. I had seen all the episodes more than once when it was on tv. Then I went and rented the whole DVD set (I'm so glad to have an anime store down the road now) and noticed a lot of episodes that I had never seen before. They showed characters that were never shown in the edited version and a totally different part of the storyline. It really helped to make the whole story make sense after I watched it. Lately I've been watching the original Jap. subtitled versions of anime shows now. The Escaflowne thing really changed my view on this subject.
