Mtv Is Dead!

Just popped by to announce the blatantly obvious: That MTV is dead and its sister, MTV 2 is also dead. Music videos are virtually non-existant, consisting of sex, booze, and shoot-'em-ups.
I miss the old MTV. Sad

Yeah, but I just really noticed it because I was waiting for rock count-down and some of the most horrible videos came on and it really pissed me off. Now the only show I watch is Wild Boyz.

It's Christmas.
I don't like Viva La Bam. It's staged I know, but it's kinda annoying having a 20-something year old guy act like an immature kindie-gardener.

The coolest video I ever saw was "Rock the Casbah" by the Clash. That video...is...so...cool.

It's a pity, considering the golden age of MTV and videos was so fabulous. Everything from its conception to '93 was fantastic. Well...besides pop and dance, those videos sucked hard.

Videos used to be fun. But the bands used to be fun, and now they're boring, so the videos are boring. Not that they ever play videos, and if they do, they put irritating commentary over them.

Bam Margera's only saving grace is he's pretty. He's not funny and lord knows he ain't smart, but I'll ignore everything that comes out of his mouth just to watch him run around and look nice. Which is pretty much the core value of MTV. Ignore the content, just watch the pretty people.

VH1 has gone the way of MTV, going for stupid programming instead of music.

VH1 Classic and FUSE won't be far behind.

FUSE already has gone the way of MTV. At least with showing boring trendy bands all the time. Dedicate Live and DUMPED are okay I guess. Its nice to see hour long programs of just music videos. Just wish that the bands were better.

But other than that, if FUSE turns into a punk MTV then I can only say that I totally called it.

I guess for now I'm going to have to roam Yahoo to find music videos that actually have REAL rock music...Even then it's pretty pathetic.

I'll be serious that Bam is pretty. Sad

But yes his show sucks in a way that I want to beat the crap out of all of them, the staged performence (but hey, that's t.v for ya) the stupid music and yes how stupid Bam really is. I don't entirely believe that Bam is his real name, due to the lack of finding the truth and just sitting on my ass. But I laugh at it all not in a laughing matter that I like it, but just out of pitty, though I do spot some parts that do make me laugh that's why I watch it. How retarded could my reason get?

I look at all the music shows, they all feel behind, there's no more awsome videos or bands. Just stupid rappers speaking giberish wearing over sized clothes looking like the retards that they are, and stupid "rock" bands that keep screaming and sing only about rebeling, wanting the girl, breaking up, blah blah, more or less emo. Not to mention that most look ugly. Also abusing the guitars in their hands playing lines that make my ears bleed.

The only good thing about those screaming emo bands is that they are some of the funniest videos to ever watch. All you have to do is stop being pissed off and realize how funny these guys are being even though they're trying to be "serious and deep." :rolleyes:

Take Hawthorne Heights for example. Their new music video is the only reason I watch MTV in the morning. Its so funny even though its not supposed to be. There's like a scene in the bridge of the song that has this rich snobbish looking (and totally gay) dad splash tea on the frontman of band and he screams like a little bitch. Like "Owwww! The tea! Why daddy? This is worse than the probe! Why?!" Its so funny. I always pee a little when I see that part. :lol:

So yeah, I watch MTV for its comedic value. Smile
