Mtv Is Dead!

Hmmm...Maybe that's what I should start doing, watching MTV for a comedy relief. I mean, it sure as hell is there, I just haven't noticed the humorous part of it yet.
But I should.
Yeah, why the hell do rappers think that over-sized clothes make them look sexy? They look like little kids trying to be "pimpin'" and boy do they fail at it. I hate when I see white kids from suburbia trying to act like they're from the ghe-tto when in reality they're preps who have no idea what they're doing, being sheeple.
(Sheeple=people who can't think for themselves.)
MTV for comedy. I think I'm gonna try that.

Bam's real name is Brandon Cole Margera. I don't blame him for the stupidity. Make money where ya can, it's everyone who watches it and buys his crap that are sad. And at least he can skate and isn't a complete waste of existence like most of mtv's little puppets.

I don't have a problem with most of mtv's programming, were it not for the fact it's supposed to be [b]music[/b] television. If it were the "shitty teen channel", that would be ok.

It's rather pointless anymore, though. Whose videos do you want to see? Most decent bands don't even bother with videos 'cause they won't be played unless they have trendwhore support.

With the internet, mtv is rather obsolete for music. A good website, good advertising, and a media section work much better. In fact, Launch on Yahoo is better than mtv ever was. Customize your preferences and enjoy.

Anyways, indeed yahoo launch music is better than mtv. Customize and enjoy the music you love.
If you register you can listen to your music without commercials am I correct? I can't remember so luanch music is not so much godly with dealing with blasted commercials.

I watch MuchMusic, and MuchMoreMusic, which are the Canadian versions of MTV and VH1. They are highly superior.

I think Much is Fuse in the States, actually.

FUSE already has gone the way of MTV. At least with showing boring trendy bands all the time. Dedicate Live and DUMPED are okay I guess. Its nice to see hour long programs of just music videos. Just wish that the bands were better.

Oooh I hate Fuse.... <_< All they play is s**t with the occasional good song.
The only thing good about that damn channel is when they do Loaded and its a good band. Which it rarely is.

I didn't really realize how stupid MTV was until this year when I watched the Real World and Gauntlet bullshit...and Next, and Date My Mom, and Laguna f**king Beach. The only time MTV is cool is early mornings and late nights when they play music videos and Jackass.

VH1 has gone down the crap hole too. Not that I know what it used to be like, but all they do is gossip about celebrity s**t that no one cares about. Their music videos are decent when they play them because theres not too much rap in it, but yeh.

VH1 used to be really good. They played tons of videos and had a show on Saturdays sponsored by Rolling Rock that only played good videos. Ozzy, Van Halen, Aerosmith, etc. Up until I Love The 80s round one. After the success of that, they released a memo saying they saw what people wanted and would begin to focus on nostalgia based shows.

So you get I Love The ______ out the ass, When _____ Ruled The World, a million different stupid countdowns, CelebReality, and now just like MTV they only play videos in the late night hours, and they've all but abandoned Behind The Music.

The problem with music videos is it's nearly impossible to get ratings with them, except in a TRL type atmosphere. You aren't gonna get millions of people tuning in to a random block of videos. So there's always a slow, steady turn to regular programming to get more ratings and more advertising money. Happened to MTV, happened to VH1, and will happen to FUSE and all the other smaller channels that have popped up.

We have MTV in Canada now. Thanks a lot, America. I can't watch the TV anymore because my sister's are always snagging it to watch Laguna Beach or something.

Much Music isn't much better. It shows way more music videos than MTV but most are by suckbands like Nickelback and that one thats all goth-esque now...

I agree. MTV isn't worth watching anymore. It defeats the whole purpose of MUSIC television. If you want good music videos from good artists like Queen of the Ramones, just try VH1 Classic. They have different hours of videos. Some are "We Are the 80's" which shows only eighties videos. Another is "Rock Fest" which shows music videos and concert videos by good rock bands like AC/DC and the Clash. If you don't get VH1 Classic, I suggest going to YouTube.com, where you can search for the videos you want.
