So I went and saw Troy last night. Decent enough movie. Historically inaccurate at points... and sure, it deviated from the actual story (most movies based on a story or book of some sort deviate)... and yeah, most people are seeing it for Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom (for once, I was not really one of them!)... but really, it was a very enjoyable watch. The battle scenes were beautifully done, and the CG they used was blended in fairly well. The casting was good (despite some people's complaints on certain actors), and they did a fairly good job with the setting. The costume design was beautiful.
Anyway, yeah. Sean Bean was in it as Odysseus, so that made my day. Not a big fan of Orlando Bloom, but he did a pretty good job as Prince Paris. Brad Pitt made a pretty awesome Achilles, to tell the truth, even though I'm not much of a Brad Pitt fan either. And Eric Bana, who played Prince Hector, did a spectacular job. As did Brian Cox and Brendan Gleeson, who played Agamemnon and Menelaus respectively.
Despite critic reviews, a fairly good movie. Highly recommended. |
Is it true that Brad Pitt is naked in there 8 different times? o.0
lol, sorry, someone told me that and it's been bothering me...
ewwwwwwwwww.... o.0
To be perfectly honest, I wasn't paying enough attention to those scenes to count them. It's not like you see any actual anatomy anyway, aside from a bit of backend. ;3 |

I said it once, I'll say it again. It really is a good movie. Worth the time to go see. *wise nod*
Of course, a guy I know complained about the romance in it... I don't think he quite understood the concept of "Greek tragedy". Then again, as he is the closest thing I know to STEREOPTYPICALLY male, I guess it's understandable. I thought it was nice, a bit of romance in the middle of all the bloodbaths... ^^; |

Yeah. The whole war was started because of a romance. Geeze, come on, get with the program... ^_^ Of course, historians argue that it couldn't be because of a woman, it was probably land or trade or something like that. ....feh. Whatever floats your boat. Helen and her beauty started the war. |

I saw it too and i brought my mom along for fun...
Anyway, Orlando did a fairly decent....okay i'm just gonna come out and say it ...THE GUY"S GOT MAJOR TALENT!!!!!!!!!!
Okay now that i've got that off my chest i can continue....
Brad Pitt seamed, to me, to struggle with his role as an over cockey greek war hero... I mean the guy couldn't act cocky to save his life <_< ...and trust me..Ive seen some acters that have that cocky attitide down to a T...
Sean Bean was pretty good too...
The war scenes with the blood baths was ultimitly the most graphic i've ever seen... My mom almost walked out cause she coulnd't handle it....
and as i was discribing the movie to my brother he moaned at the Hystoric inaccuracies. My mom acctually luggled out the ol' atlas and encyclepedias to see if anything was accurate....
Hmmmm Other that the Brad Pitt acting feasco and the major inacuracies it was very good. Maybe not Oscar worthy ... <_< Who am I to judge oscar worthy films... but it was enjoyable to see some nearly naked men ..... drool ... Yes ladies Orli gets nearly Naked......  |
