Okay, Infurno, stfu. This is a discussion about why or why not homosexuality is becoming more prominent in anime, not whether you think it's something that should be allowed or not. Let's not bring religion into this discussion, you tard. If I wanted to, I could tell you that it's your kind of conservative thinking that made black people slaves a century ago, and the same with women being barely animals. It's not true. On any logical grounds, these sort of things should be socially accepted but they're not because of people like you.

A century ago the bible said that black people were equal to animals. Fifty years ago the bible said that women were less intelligent and less derserving than men. NOW the bible says that homosexuality is a sin. Given the bible's track record so far, do you really think it's something that can be used to support your homophobia?

I think not.

Now shut up unless you actually have something to contribute to the discussion at hand.

Ah, that explains why you feel that way, then. I guess all we can do is accept the fact that there will always be differences in how people see things, and that nobody will ever get their perfect world. (A shame, really. Imagine a world without hate and war.)

And on the topic of homosexuality in anime I like it. Including it (the romantic parts of it, not the porn) in cartoons probably makes children and teenagers more open and accepting when they encounter it in real life, and that can only be a good thing, right?

It's not so much as that, is that the 'z0mg boys kissing, LOL ^.^' doesnt do it for me, I haven't read a snuff yaoi fic in quite a few years, and I don't apreciate seeing SISSY manga. Neutral

Also, people who write yaoi fics about married men fail. It's creepy, and like most things, done by overweight 12 year old girls.

This thread is pushing it. If you want to discuss whether homosexuality is right or wrong or whether or not the Bible thinks it's uncool, take it to politics. If you want to post pictures that really have nothing to do with the thread take it to Random.

My opinion on why there's so much yaoi/yuri around...? It's just the current popular fad fetish I suppose. Nothing else much too it.

For the record, The bible also says that those who cross dress are abominations before god, and that if a women is raped in the city, both she and the rapist must be stoned to death.

I'm fine with homosexuality in anime. If it's like the whole Gravitation couple, than cool. The only time I have a problem with it is when it is crappy fanfiction pairing two characters who never even met.

Meh.

I'd like to see a yaoi fanfic that has decent amount of conversation and story, PWP is gay and stupid, and I will forever stand behind that statement. I haven't seen a decent yaoi fanfic since Loverboys (FFVIII fandom) shut down. Now, THOSE fics were a great example of a 'good' fanfic.

I don't really look for fanfics anymore, much less yaoi ones, merely because of the stuff Brad mentioned. A lot of mediocre authors are out there, churning out crap everyday.

But if it has a bit of a plot and stuff happening in the storyline besides the gay factor, then I'll look (same as if it were a het pairing). Like, for example, Yami no Matsuei. :x

I could be wrong, but I think yaoi/ yuri manga started originally because manga authors were trying to put a new spin on old plots. And then, once they tried it, they found that it appealed to many girls and some guys (like me) and so they kept making it. Yes, they do a lot of dumb stuff with it, but they do a lot of dumb stuff with just about any kind of thing you can think of. Giant robots, magical girls, angels, death, homosexuals, whatever, there's the good and the bad for both. As long as people keep buying the genre, they'll keep making more, and as long as SOMEBODY writes a few good ones, people will keep buying.

It all comes down to money for most manga authors. As long as they can stomach the topic and it'll pay the bills, then why not?
