Really? I thought it was more boring than the book. And I spent the whole time wanting to cut Nobu's arm off and annoyed that the Chairman didn't age. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Are you kidding? The latest version was way better - much closer to the book.
Didn't you know that Dahl hated the original so much he stopped them from doing the sequel?
Worst show: Headlands and Neighbours |

I thought so, then again I never really got my damn ass up to go to the theaters that much. Everyone wanted to chop off Nobu's arm and the Chairman...Well...He eats to much fish. O_o _________________ "Don't Worry, Just Because I Don't Talk to You, Doesn't mean I Hate You!"

Memoirs of a Geisha and Syriana look good. I wanted to see Munich but I've kinda lost respect for Speilburg.
Worst as well: Bewitched. I hate Will Farell... _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

Yeah, I completely agree. Johnny Depp was the perfect Willy Wonka. No offense to Gene Wilder, but he just didn't play the role right.
It annoys me when people talk about "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" not being as good as the original when they probably haven't even read the book. _________________ |

Dear lord you are like my brother. I know you're just kidding but: It's not that I don't find the history of war interesting...It's just that it's so bloody and so gory and so intensely glorified that I get sick. There's more to the story than "the americans kicked bad-guy ass". A lot more. And considering my brother watches your two favorites every hour of the breathing day, I get sick of that too.
Anyhoo...
I haven't seen the new Willy Wonka. The old one was cool. Definetely did not follow the book, but it was cool.
One day, I'm gonna catch myself an Oompa Loompa. And I'm gonna name him Igor.
Worst:
War of the Worlds

Oh dear god yes. I forgot I even saw that. So painful to sit through. Yeah yeah, eye candy effects, look at the pretty tripods and goo, I get it, but that just makes it pretty, not a good movie. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Tell me 'bout it. I mean...It just yech. And Dakota Fanning screaming in terror every five/six seconds really got old. That movie made me lose a lot of respect for Speilburg; Munich looks okay now but still...
Another bomb: Brothers' Grimm
ARGH!! I hate Terry Gilliam. His stuff is s**t!
The brightside was that I got to throw gummy bears at people and use my fart machine.
Otherwise, it was a waste of my money.
Which is why I snuck into Wedding Crashers afterwards. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

I liked Brothers Grimm! It was so bizarre, exactly my type of movie. I especially liked the arts with the queen and the kid who turned into gooo.. _________________ |

:( I liked it for some reason. Which is odd because I pretty much hate almost every movie I see. The ending was lame...with the son and all. I think i was just liking the special effects. The cheese between cruise and his son was almost unwatchable... but the tripods made scary sounds that made me hide under the covers........ I thought it was okay so I got Ash to watch it... he looked at me like I was an idiot and said it's one of the worst he's ever seen.
I recently saw Narnia : Yawn. I didn't even finish watching it.
Saw King Kong yesterday. The whole time they were on the island it was okay. It moved a little too slow in the beginning and too fast at the end though I think. _________________ |

That's what I heard; that two hours of King Kong was just on the island...And they hadn't even captured him yet. I want to see Narnia, because when I was a wee little lass I was obsessed with the books, but so far reviews from people haven't exactly "wowed" me.
I saw Dick and Jane last week...It was surprisingly amusing. Jim Carrey has his moments when he really is funny. Other times, he over-exaggerates everything. But hey, he's a comiedian. Don't they all?
I liked Brothers Grimm! It was so bizarre, exactly my type of movie. I especially liked the arts with the queen and the kid who turned into gooo..
I'll give it originality...But that was it. I've seen other Gilliam movies and they're so horrible. Espeaically Brazil. It was like he was trying to copy 1984...And he did a horrible job doing so. The script was awful. The actors were sinking under it.
But the photography, the background and everything, was really nice.
I really really really really liked Wallace and Grommit. I was so happy when I saw it. It still had, intact, the Brit humor that I've been raised with.

I didn't see too many movies this year, but most were good. And I may have missed a few that I meant to put on here....
Best: Howl's Moving Castle, The Producers (both GREAT movies! see them sometime!, and the 3rd Inuyasha movie (doubt it would really count for an oscar though )
Worst: (whatever the wallace and gromit movie was...I can't even remember the full title because of how bad it was )

It's Wallace and Gromitt: Attack of the Wererabbit, thank you very much.
Humph....You clearly have nooo sense of humor.
New thing to add to best of 2005: Syriana. Oh my god that movie was so incredibly sad, yet freaky true at the same time. Ironically, we're studying corruption in the political system as I speak. It was really, a good movie. Kinda violent, though...The torture scene was a little gross, but that was about it. I really, really liked it, mainly because it spoke pretty true about the system on the whole and how money makes the world go round. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |
