I have over 50 drawings myself from since 1999/2000, most of them are different/unique subjects and can't easily be compared. And with the "3 a day" rule it'd take forever to get them all uploaded here!
In the meantime I'll have to link them from their spot on my Angelfire page....
My first drawing, 1999:
Same subject, 2nd version (2000):

Third drawing, 1999:
http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/stratadrake/gallery1/dragon_03_75.jpg
Second version of the same (2000):
http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/stratadrake/gallery2/c14_dragon_75.jpg
(This was NOT done on lined paper. It was done on the back of a class handout (a review sheet/chart), and the line scanned through the other side)
Eight Dragons - First version (early 2000):

Third version (late 2000):

Third version (2002):

Dracans (dragon-people), first versions (2000):

That's about it for true comparisons. As a more general comparison, I guess these can do:
1999:

2000/2001:

(another one drawn on the backside of a class review sheet/chart, and the lines scanned through)
2002/2003:

hmmm. wow Ive got nothing here posted from ToniBo back in the '70s or '80s, but I did post a mid '90s version that I incidently think sucks (too Laura Croft) and the coloring bl*ws too:
ToniBo circa 1998
and after the final refining of my comic and the characters:
ToniBo "girls with glasses"
and the latest of my big Bo
Beach Baby Bo
people either like or dont like the eyes and the muscle...but the muscle is beacause shes a hero not a superhero that can be a toothpick and still kick azz and the eyes are my style! _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. Wow, I know I have definintely improved in the past year... I used to draw a lot as a kid, mostly cats and things... then after a bad experience in my gr. 10 art class (well, bad teacher, actually), I drew very little... now I just seriously got back into it... and wish I would never have stopped, because I could probably be a LOT better now... anyway... here we go... this is how I have improved, and how my style has changed as well...
Tephro - This was drawn... I don't remember... 2001 or 2002?? Not sure... I mostly drew animals... I didn't draw people yet...
Curly Hair - Again, one of my first attempts at anime-styling... (mid-2003)
Full body attempt - I was trying to design a character, and after studying anatomy a bit, I tried drawing a full body pose... I know, it's on lined paper... (mid-2003)
Winged tiger - Again, I love my cats... I doodled this one day... really bad wings... I just drew them, and didn't study them at all... (mid-2003)
Plunger Girl - Where my online name comes from... anyway, trying to design her... I drew mostly heads (I was afraid to draw bodies)... (later-2003)
Me as a cat girl - Working on more full-body poses... and hands as well... (late-2003)
Nynaeve - Trying a realistic-ish style... some bad proportions... (late-2003)
Avaelyn - My first real character design... (early-2004)
Edward Norton - An attempt at male human realism... (early/mid-2004)
Akyra - another attempt at a character design... (mid-2004)
Dragon - Trying something different (mid-2004)
Chibi Yuna - Trying a chibi style (mid-2004)
And my latest project... trying coloring with Paint Shop Pro 7... my first attempt...
sorry, it's attatched, I don't have it posted yet... but that's it, so anyway... that was fun... thanks everyone!!

Hm, I think I shall give hope to everyone...
Really Old Around...1995.
Then there's a big ol' gap where I didn't draw much except school assignments.
1999 I won a kit from a raffle, it was a "Draw Today" company product. As infomercial as it sounds, it works. Only piece I can remember is a portrait of my teacher I gave to her (shut up, teacher's pet, I know).
2000-- First piece I did was Greg Proops, then shortly after Ryan Stiles. Both were done with the method taught in Draw Today of covering the whole paper with charcoal then erasing the picture into it, thus the "dirty" look. Very messy technique. And requires good paper in order for the charcoal to come off at all cleanly. Those are the only two pieces, save for the little "Born Punk" thing I don't think counts, that were done on real charcoal paper.
2001-- Start of my, well, obsession with drawing rock dudes. The biggest reason was prior to this point I 1) didn't have much money of my own to buy albums with, thus I was limited to birthday and christmas gifts or records my dad owned and 2) was limited in my abilities to draw without a grid, and gridding requires a relatively large reference picture generally only available in magazines or online. The pictures in CD booklets just didn't cut it. But at this point I started to buy my own albums and was able to look up pictures online to draw from.
C.C. DeVille was first. For as much as Axl shows up in my gallery, C.C. was first and has actually been drawn the most. Just not uploaded for various reasons. Everyone teases me for being an Axl nutswinger, and I am and adore Axl, but I like C.C. more. What an insult to Axl I'm sure that is. Yes Axl was prettier, a better writer, had better fashion sense, and probably even a bigger whiner than C.C., but I can't help it. Anyway, I don't seem to even have that picture anymore. Probably gave it away, or it's in the bottom of a drawer somewhere. Ah well. The oldest one I have is still in my gallery (oy) and is from 2002.
Second was Ozzy. Why these are still even in my gallery is beyond me 'cause I kinda hate looking at them.
2002-- Besides the C.C. one above, the summer of 2002 I started to stop working in reverse. Adding charcoal to the paper instead of taking it off. I think Randy Rhoads was the first I did in that way. Go find it in my gallery; I'm too lazy for a link. Alice, Rikki, the other C.C. picture, and a few others are from this year as well. Of the ones that survive in my gallery, at least.
A lot of the rest of the stuff in there is from last year or this one. I think I've put waaaay too much thought into this, but I don't have enough really old stuff to just put links and say "hey, that was then, here's now". Sometimes I wish I'd have put dates on everything, especially since some of the older stuff is still online. I don't think it's terrible, but as I get older it just looks worse and worse. And that's depressing.
I'll shut up now. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |
