hey all

i've bought some ost's in my time. like the inuyasha and naruto and cowboy bebop and kingdom hearts OST's.

and thus far they are the most awesome thing's i've ever heard. i mean some osts. only have music from hip bands.

while other's have nothing but music from the show's which also rocks. tell me what other one's are good.

this includes video games.

figured since it's music. that this place is best for this thread. :wub:

It may not be everyone's taste, but I think that the .hack//sign OSTs are some of the best out there.
Zelda music is also quite awesome, but that might just be my inner fangirl talking. Smile

How about getting famous movie soundtrack which are actually better than most, if not all anime soundtracks but don't get any recognition by anime fans just simply because it's not anime based?

On the subject of soundtracks from anime and video games, I've a question: My gaming friends in the states say that they're made fun of because they listen to video game/anime music. My question is why? :huh:

I have both Hellsing albums because they have this kind of jazzy quality to them that I like.

I like most video game musica as well because I really enjoy instrumentals, so I've gotten my hands on the Ocarina of Time soundtrack, an Orchestrated Smash Bros one, and some collection of miscellanious Final Fantasty songs from Wal Mart's bargain bin.... actually, of those, the Final fantasy one was the only one I actually had to pay for....

FF Tactics OST <33333333333333333333

I like the FF Advent Children OST, too.

FF I and II OSTs are okay.

FF VII and VIII are alright.

... I almost like anything by Nobuo Uematsu :\

Baten Kaitos OST was rather disappointing. Not that great of songs.

I REALLY liked the Tsubasa Chronicle OSTs. Shame I don't have them on my computer anymore, and I can't seem to find any torrents that work ;___;
Tales of Symphonia OST made me happy.

FMA OST's were ok. Not the best, but still enjoyable. But I almost like anything FMA, so...

... and various songs from various OSTs

... yeah, I really have nothing to contribute. I just wanted to share the FF Tactics OST love with Fayore.

Alot of the songs where better when mixed with the atmosphere of the game, like the music that played in Wazn was lovely, the violins hit just hit as the little girl slipped on the ice. That's brilliance. Though Baten Kaitos' OST was waaaaay too dramatic, and that's why it failed. :|

On the topic of anime soundtracks, I particularly like Di Gi Charat music. You could say I'm a bit biased, beacause that's true. But there's so much more to offer beyond cute vocal tracks, Variety, Style...It's amazing. I never hear the Alto saxaphone anymore, but in a BGM, they used it! And they use the sweet pea, violins, guitars..See? Variety. Some may sound like disco, and other times it sounds like something out of a Ballroom. :wub:

I'm currently listening to the Romancing SaGa Soundtrack, I like Minuet alot. Surprised

Are there Naruto OSTs available in the States yet? I doubt it... Oh well, besides anything done by Yuki Kajiura (.hack, Tsubasa, Noir), I love love love the Naruto OSTs. The music is very interesting - a blend of rock, orchestral, and traditional Japanese instruments. Good stuff. :3

The Last Exile OSTs are good too.

The funniest part is, he wasn't the composer for FFT. Masaharu Iwata and Hitoshi Sakimoto are. 8D

I knew that. o.o;;;

Another soundtrack to add to my list, although not anime:

The Chronicles of Narnia OST
Composed by Harry Gregson-Williams

While I was watching the movie, I kept thinking about how much I loved the music. After the movie, I just had to go straight to the CD store to pick up the OST. I am very pleased. The music is totally beautiful and awesome. ^o^ There are just 4 songs that actually have lyrics performed by artists (Imogen Heap, Alanis Morissette, Tim Finn, Lisbeth Scott) in them that I don't particularly like as much as the actual score. Still good songs, but I prefer the actual score.
