Has anybody ever seen Paul Klee's work? I have only seen one picture, and that one was enough for the rest of my life.
The work is called Twittering Machine, and it was in my Art History book. The book rhapsodizes briefly about how "innocent" and "childlike" the thing is. "What happens if you turn the crank?" my book wonders.
Probably, the "innocent" little machine goes chupacabra and rips your soul apart. Seriously, I don't see how the authors of that book can consider Klee's work "childlike." It looks nothing short of demonic to me. I was lost, staring at it in horrified fascination, for at least five minutes before I snapped out of it and slammed the book shut. I have had nightmares about Twittering Machine. I couldn't even pinpoint to you what makes that picture so creepy to me--it just is, almost unbearably so.
Does anybody else share my feelings on Klee, or am I just losing my mind? _________________ Disgaea's Overlords Dance in Worlds Beyond Infinity while Mifuyus Magical Multiplying Mole reads the epic Chronicles of Yord, and you learn that your Craving for Finding a Heart of Snow is Taboo in VG unless you dare undertake The Combine of Sin... |
