hey all
well tell us how you say"ok i'm going to buy this cd"
like me for instance. i only buy my cd's from FYE b/c they let you listen to some of the cd before we can buy them.
every song is like 30 seconds in there data base or so.
thus meaning i can decided if i like the whole cd.
************
with me its. if i like more then half of the CD. then if i really like it. i'll buy it. the more songs i like the more of a chance i'll buy it. :D
so discuss _________________ I'm a bit silly on the goofy side on nonsense. ^_^ |

I buy from who I already like. Chances are the music doesn't change so much I won't like it, so I don't need to hear much. IE I bought Billy Idol's newest after hearing the first single on his website, and the rest of the album didn't disappoint.
With new artists, again, I listen to one or two songs to get an idea of it then just buy it. It's only $15, after all. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Sometimes I look at record labels. Other times, I'll just look at the artist/band name to see if I ever heard of them or any of their songs. |

Input from friends, music magazines, etc. I generally have a good idea about any band whether I'd like them or not before I hear them. |

I usually just download random, obscure japanese music, and if I hear something I particularly like, even if it's just one song, I'll go out and buy the cd it's on. :0 _________________

# of Songs and Song Length - For artists I already know. Would you rather buy an album with 12 three minute songs, or an album with 3 five minute songs, a twelve minute song, and a twenty minute song?
The latter. _________________

It really depends on who the artist is and how many hits from that album I've already heard. I like buying albums where I have like two or three hits that I've already heard before. Then I can get adventurous and listen to new songs from that album.
I mostly end up buying Greatest Hits albums from artists because of this. That way, I know I'll be totally happy with all the songs on the album instead of liking maybe only four or five songs a lot and skipping over six or seven filler songs. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I will normally only buy a CD if I really want it, I won't normally buy if if there are only a few songs that I want. If i'm getting a new CD and I haven't heard any of the songs then i'll listen to a few of the songs on the CD before buying it. I also get alot of reccomendations from friends. If not those then it's the same as Fayore, if I download the song and really like it i'll go look for it :3 |

Usually I hear from friends...though sometimes they like bands I despise so I change course and venture out on my own. Most of the time I've bought soundtracks...and attatched to those soundtracks are some pretty good bands and whatnot, so I check up on them on Amazon (out of sheer boredom I now write reviews there), listen to the music, then decide if I really want it...mainly because while I can spend like, eighteen bucks on a c.d. I can call my own from Borders or something, I can easily just request is from our library, get it in a few days, burn it, and then return it for free.
It all depends...I really like buying c.d.'s but on the other hand I'm a cheapskate and don't like to spend money. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |
