Steve, I hate to be a hardass but I gotta ask you..whats the point of this thread? All I see is some verbal masturbation if anything and in here, we try to not do that. So either you give this thread a purpose and maybe ask a question or make this thread interesting or I guarantee that it will not last.

Yes, he did spell his name right, at least, y'all are the ones who always spell it Rhodes.

Know what? I shouldn't have to close a thread about Randy. Because I didn't think it was possible to create a useless topic about him, and yet it has been done. It's full of too much garbage to continue a serious "is he the best" discussion, which never really works anyway.

It comes down to him against EVH, by the way, always does, and in that case it's just not a fair comparison. He died so young that Eddie's body of work has the advantage, but people judge Randy on what he [i]could[/i] have done if he lived, having had so much potential at such a young age. You can't call someone the best based on what they [i]might[/i] have accomplished.

He's still my favorite and of course one of the best technically because of his classical training, but as far as influence and accomplishment, he's far from the top. Career was too short. Pity.

Nice picture, though, he was an awkward kinda pretty. Looked better surrounded by the dogs in Quiet Riot, although Ozzy had porked up by the time they were together. Anyway. Someone start a decent topic or let the poor subject rest.
