Gun. A game that could have been a lot worse, but also a lot better.

First off, what it did right: Horsies. Yay. I do enjoy riding teh horsies. And, though it wasn't as in depth or real as riding a horse in Shadow of the Colossus, I think it work just fine for the genre, giving you more direct control and allowing the shootouts from on horseback to work very well.

The game has some very exciting moments, especially some of the later Pony Express missions where you are riding full tilt through hostile territory at break neck speeds. The main story is good, with a few twists along the way. It is also violent as hell, and the gunplay is great. Also, the voice acting is top-notch.

Now, a few things they could have done better: The story is WAY too short. There are parts that just need more development. Like when you become a deputy, I expected a few hours of missions where I would uphold the law and all that jazz. Instead, my very first story mission I am betrayed by my employer (who you learn is the bad guy) and all that promise of some interesting lawman scenario goes out the window.

Also, the world is way too small. I can get from the one major town to the other in less than 2 minutes flat at top speed. What the hell? There is nothing to explore, and the more you do explore, the less you find. This open game play GTA style crap is good and all, but make it worth while. I'll even settle for a few loading screens (the game has none) for a bigger world to explore.

All in all the game feels authentic if not a little tongue-in-cheek. The horseback riding and run-and-gun fighting of the game is great. The controls are tight and responsive. But the story needs to be longer and more fleshed out, and the world you are in to be much, much bigger.

Your thoughts, anyone
?

GUN? The last time I played an Old Western themed videogame was Dead Man Hand and it was cool but not as fun and face action pace.I predict that Gun is fast and action paced like Halo?

No, much different than Halo. It would lean more towards the GTA series, or the "sandbox" type of game play. Gun is an action adventure game mixed with elements of a shooter.

I think Gun is a great game. When I was doing a hunting mission my friend who's in PETA was in the room with me and freaked out when I shot the white buffalo.

PETA can suck on my fat one. They do all the right things for all the wrong reasons. So misguided.
