I was thinking about starting up playing an instrument maybe the bass guitar, and i was just wondering if any of you play any.
I used to play the drums when i was about 12, i had the best teacher in the world and used to play the drums with my mate. When we went to high school it was a whole different story, we had a different teacher and didnt like him at all. Now i want to start up again but not drums, my mate plays a drum and another one plays a guitar so ive decided to learn bass.
Any interesting anicdotes or stories from you guys? |

hmmm i think there was a category similar to this a while ago... o well
i play clarinet and bass clarinet. as well as a little cello and piano. i would love to learn to play the sax or trombone (hehe then i can be in a ska band) and of course guitar and especially bass guitar (i love low instruments- don't know why they're just cool).
umm cant think of any interesting anecdotes but i can say that suddenly all my friends seem to be getting guitars and i feel a little left out but its ok since now i can go over my friends' houses and mooch off their instruments. once i get money i think i'll buy a bass. i can also say that the instrument i play for orchestra, bass clarinet, is a virtually unheard-of instrument b/c everyone is always asking what i play and give me weird looks when i tell them. (for anyone here who doesnt know, it looks like a combination of a sax and a clarinet, and its keys are the same as a clarinet but plays lower. hehe i can almost hit the brown note).
drums are very cool, but yes learn bass for it is cooler _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

There was a topic about people's favorite instrument, but was there one about what they play? Ah well, don't remember.
I played the violin for two years, piano for almost 6, and the electric guitar for one year (exactly one year the day after Christmas). _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

Yeah there is an ocarina. I have one. It's shaped like a bird. oh well.
I've been playing the piano since kindergarten. uh I can also play these insturments:
-Bassoon
-Irish whistle
-Percussion (all of the stuff that's in that catagory)
-sax
- and if I get two hours with an instrument I could probably figure it out
I play weird stuff. |

sure ocarina's are real! hasn't anyone ever seen that episode of Doug (the original, not the stupid disney version) when it's the talent show? Doug has a dummy act, but Skeeter plays the ocarina. Well, he tries to play it. um i think somebody ate it or something b/c i remember he never actually performed. but yea, he had an ocarina (if i remember correctly)- it looked like a loaf of bread with holes in it. i miss that show....
by the way, very cool instruments sgtNeko-chan! (or mindy, whichever you prefer) _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

haha in awe of the ocarina's existence, hmm bossman?
ps hiphip hoo-ray i got a guitar for xmas! yay my dad is so cool i was rather surprised i must say. it's acoustic (dam i cant blast it and scare the neighbors) and very pretty and haha my dad tuned it for me (he used to play) and before i'd even touched the guitar a string had already been broken. whoa run-on sentences much. o well this isn't english class so if you can tolerate the bad grammar, i can. _________________ i fought the war, but the war won |

I FINALLY got my guitar yesterday. I attempted to learn how to play it... a friend of mine is helping me. I'll just have to wait and see how I do. I'm going to buy some new piano music as soon as I have the chance. The stuff I have now is too easy. |
