Just for kicks, try to answer this yourself. Look at your behavior since you joined, the reactions it caused, the specifics of that post in particular (ETA: the one that was locked in "Music") and the comments of people who posted after you.

If you're still in doubt, take it up with the mod in private. On all the boards I've seen in my life, questionning a mod's decision in public is pretty much the worst course of action you could take. Questionning it in private is only slightly better. The wisest course of action remains learning and not doing the same mistakes again. I'm certain you can identify these mistakes with a minimum of introspection.

Look, all I know is that if you act smart, give somewhat of an effort in the ways of typing, and make smart decisions, people don't mind you. My first thread I started as "Howdy." Intro'd myself, and soon I felt at home. I like it here...most of the time. Granted, there are a few assholes who should be banned, out of spite and common sense, but it's generally a welcoming place.

n00bs who act arrogant will be treated like idiots. It's like life. (More anologies^^). If someone randomly walks up to your group of friends and acts like they own the place, naturally you'd be very pissed. There are verbal and silent laws that need to be addressed. Though I signed up on the forum the first day I came to the FAC, the first half-an-hour was spent with me watching other posts and generally getting a feel for what was going on. Then I made my thread, and I wasn't eaten.

The thing is, people expect to be treated equally when they come here. That's wrong. This is more like the animal kingdom than anything else. There IS a pecking order, and if you don't abide by it, you will get your ass kicked. You start as the gamma of the group, then gradually work your way up to being a beta. And then life becomes soooo much easier, doesn't it?

Oh, and another thing I've learned. Make a thread about a mod/admin, you WILL DIE. Period. There's no ifs ands or buts. You are blatantly asking for a can of whoop ass, and chances are, you'll get it. If you got a gripe, you PM. Pming is your friend. It's face-to-face, and though the encounter won't be the most kind, it'll be more direct and polite than if you make a full blown threads.

That is what I have learned, humbly starting from a baby to a forum contributor.

EDIT: Oh, aye at closing this. It was a stupid n00b rant and I feel like a rube just posting in it.

Someone lock this. x This is just as bad as an idiot on a forum I made three weeks ago then had to close because the site had a complaint about the members that were decent being 'unfair' to a newbie. I reported the newbie as being irrational and flaming, and the forum got locked. GR.
