Remember those drawings you did a few years ago that you thought were the most amazing pieces of art to grace the Earth?

Looking back at some of the pieces you use to like you suddenly realize just how bad you actually were.

Don't link to pictures of other people's bad art, only things that you'd drawn a long time ago and now despise.

I'd say limit yourself to about 3 of your bad pieces of art, if you can show that many.

I'll work sequentially from the bad to the worst.

I actually use to really like this portrait of Edward Scissorhands but now I know that it is pure crap. The likeness isn't very good, the reflection in his scissors is laughable, and there is something not right about his face.

Next I bring you my little gothy. Wow, she is bad. Blurry, bad scan, bad proportions and just ugly. Why I ever liked this piece of crap eludes me.

This one takes the cake for the biggest piece of crap art from a few years ago. I was so proud of this one, and I can not figure out why. Maybe it's the PG-13ness of it. Yes, I even did SMUDGE shading. What is wrong with her head? I officially dub it my #1 piece of crap art. ^_^

EDIT: Also, if you want, add a piece of your recent work for comparison.

My most recent anime picture is Asuka from Evangelion. To think I actually thought that gothy thing I drew before was even remotely anime-like.

I have already deleted so much of my art that I thought sucked. One day about a year ago I purged my gallery of about 20 pics, so it's hard to believe there's so much crap left. The reason why I still have so many crappy pictures is because they're fanart crappy pictures, meaning they still get more comments than my good, more recent stuff. I would delete them to make my gallery look better as a whole, but unfortunatly I am a sucker for comments. The same thing goes for my poetry. My better ones are ignored while this one fanfic poem keeps getting the same types of comments. Anyhow, here is my craptastic work:

EDIT: I missed the 3 pieces limit. I crossed some off.

[s]sucks[/s]
hate it
filter abuse
[s]juvenile[/s]
[s]rushed through it[/s]

bad psp7 skills
[s]before I knew about pixel art[/s]

Unfortunatly, those all have more comments than stuff like this or this.

Ahahahaha...
I can't believe I'm putting these on the internet. I must really have no shame. D:

At any rate...I present to you....
ZOMG KOWAIIII LEGO-CHAAAN!!!!1!1111eleven ^__^

...which was drawn almost exactly two years ago. ;_; I think you guys can figure out what's wrong with it on your own.
(Though in my own defense, I did it to appease the wrath of two of my friends, and I had no idea who Legolas was at the time. =/ )

And here's another piece of horrible from only slightly later than the last one. I remember thinking that it was so awesome at the time, too...

Newisher pic for comparison.

lol, that's how I felt as I was scanning my pics. Laughing Somehow, I can't manage to throw all my old art in the garbage though. As much as I think I should, I actually keep it around. >.> Good reminder that I could always be worse. Actually, scratch that. Best way to remind myself I could be worse would be to just look at Usagi's art.

This one started out pretty well, but something went wrong in the coloring, and the result is hardly recognizable for what it was supposed to be.

What I;m dissapointed with this (and every other attempt I've made at creating northern lights), is that after the first time I did something like this-which turned out really good-I could never get it right again. And here's the best result I could get out of three other tries... >/

All right, I'm gonna take this waaay back now with something I drew when I was thirteen.

Daggett, an original character of mine. This was what passed for a finished, laboured over piece of mine back in the day.

Five years later, and this is what a quick scribble of the same character in my sketchbook looks like.

This Daggett pic is getting close to two years old, but I still like the way it looks. I'll just throw it in for the sake of having a coloured version of the character for you to compare that first pencil scribble to.

Shadow Play. Man, I used to adore this pic. And it wasn't even too long ago.

BUT ARGH, THAT NECK! DDDX So deformed. I'd probably still like this pic if that neck wasn't so damn screwed up. I mean, the shading is good. But ugh.

King of Egypt.

I'd love this pic if his chin wasn't deformed to hell. ;_;

Okay, so that's all I don't like much in my FAC gallery that I know I could have done better on. I have plenty of crap here, but... It's more of an improvement thing. These just had no excuse. D:

DA Stuff:

Jou and Red Eyes.

I still love my Red Eyes, but Jou... eurgh. Hooray for big heads! And short legs! And long-ass arms! And complete and total failures!

This is embarassing...

'nuff said. D:

But this'n here is the ultimate:

Tears.

Okay. Light (and terrible) coloring. Awful proportions and anatomy, no concept of perspective... and I used to LOVE IT. Dx Ugh.

Haha, I love comparing my old art with my new. I'll compare with my galleries at FAC and DA. XD

FAC: This was my first picture I ever did of my InuYasha OC, Akalah. I still love the character, but the picture....>< Horrid proportions, and rather creepish to me. Plus, I never realized how much I magnified it. The original's teeny. o.O
http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-253363.html
I still somewhat like it, it at least looks like her. But...I was sorta having this period of trying to draw muscles. Since Akalah's a demon in disguise, I figured she'd be a bit beefy...X_X
DA: This is a recent pic I have on DA of my RP character Storm and my friend's RP character, Kira. Aww, look at the love. <3
http://www.deviantart.com/view/29291701/
However, my ability to name things has not improved in the least. v.v

My turn now..

There's this
I spent the longest time coloring it, and I thought the proportions on the faces were heavenly... but the're really not. In fact, I cringe every time I look at this picture... Look at the shading! Banghead

Fire
I used to be really proud of this one -- one of my first profiles... It's horrible. That fire on her head looks plastic...

Teddy
This one was supposed to be sexy. WTF? Her hair isn't even on her head!!!!

The only reason these are still in my gallery is to track my improvement.

Here's a more recent piece for comparison.
