Gals obess because of a few key things
A. they can't get a real guy/girl
B. they never tried
C. they find anime as a haven for the real world where everyone likes them
D. they're just creepy obessive

ugh fan girls can be bothersome. however they're more afraid of you then you are of them.

edit: don't hurt me

I wouldn't be surprised if fan girls have their own make believe weddings to their favorite characters. In fact they probally have all the details planned out too like what type of napkins will be used and dresses the bride's maids wear.

When an obsession gets this far you know its beyond too far............... it's scary.
Hey Nami , you forgot to consider the Sonic fans and the TeenTitans fans as well.
Well it just goes to show ya that every time you logged into FAC, you are bound to encounter some fangirl's(and boys) account names that are usually asscociated with the shows that they watch or games that they played.
Your right. I forgot about those fans. I think it's silleh to be in love with a hedgehog. O:

Actually, there are a few webpages I have seen where you can "marry an Inuyasha character" & things like that.

A webpage like that has to be run by fan girls. Who else would make it? Surprised

What? Marry Inuyasha? That's messed up. Way too obsessed.

Yes. Many many fangirls. There are so many usernames on FAC proclaiming their love for a character. When they start imagining them to be real...that's just plain creepy (unless they're doing it for fun, then it's ok). Example: (when commenting) Dude thatz good! Some Anime Character: You're obsessive compulsive. Me: *shifty eyes* what? no way... *edges away*. I've seen too many of these and it makes me laugh. Schizo much?

Me? Not an obsessive fangirl. I can say that I like a character, but that's only because I think they're cute. Usually their characters are so dramatic on the scales that I could never imagine them being real. And when I make characters, they don't live in my head.

I've thought about dressing up like characters because I thought their outfit was cool. Their clothes are rather impractical and most are for emos. Not for me. I'm a happy kid! :woot:

Soo...anyhoo...too many fangirls to count. That's my choice.

How about this:
We can fantasize about movie gods, but when it comes right down to it the man is just a man, with a life and relationships and all of that baggage that goes along with it, and he's not the character in the movie except for those two hours.
A character from anime has no alter ego, he doesn't get off the set at the end of the day and exchange his costume for streetclothes and go home. He's always the hero or the half-demon or whatever it is you're looking for.
The represent idealized versions of whatever it is the girl wants, she can layer him with whatever traits she wants to and he's never going to dissapoint her.
Turn it around and become the type of fangirl that has an anime character as her idol and its the same thing. She is everything you secretly want to be, and she'll always be that way.

And, of course, anime is pretty.

(eh, above is just my opinion, yadda yadda)

I utterly, completely, totally agree with you.

You want yaoi, girls? Go see it in real life for yourself, I bet you won't be so happy anymore. (and if you interpret this wrong, I've never seen it in real life. That's so wrong, but this isn't a diss against gay peeps)

You know you don't have to look at the yaoi. It gives a little warning next to the pictures name.

i forsee this becoming a circular argument lol
i know they warn you...but its the principal of the matter.
its just that every other picture or story has yaoi or is about yaoi or has a yaoi theme. and im just kinda tired of it
but im not dissing you people who like it....like if you want, i dont care
and if you want to flame me ^__^ go ahead...i eat flames with hot sauce!! OWNED.

*shrugs* You can't really tell people to not put as much yaoi/yuri up becasue they still will. A fan is just a fan and it's pretty unlikely that they are going to stop just because you ask them to. It's not the principle of the matter, just don't click the link, it's easy. If you don't want to see it then don't go onto it. Simple. :\
I'm not a huge fan of yaoi/yuri but I don't see a problem with it either. And if you don't like it then that's fine but you can't really complain about what others like ...
Don't click it and it will be like there's none there ^^

I don't like yoai and yuri and all that stuff either, but why can't we just use english words on english sites instead of adapting for the japanese genre and forcing non-manga lovers to learn a new language? (or bits of one)

That's like saying, "How about we call Pizza something else in English! So that people won't be forced to learn Italian!"

Seriously, that is a lame argument.

Hey guys! ^^ Please try and stay on topic. This thread isn't about whether or not you think yaoi is nasty or about how we should or should not come up with english word for foreign terms.

It is regarding the fangirl population on FAC. If a new topic starts to come up in a thread.. then start a new one please.

I meant, why use new words from a different language when we've already got words for them in our own?

I think the fangirl population is way to high to count. Most of them don't even know how to properly comment

edit:
I don't want to post further down off topic, so I'll reply here this time.
Fayore, FAC is a fanart site and not an anime site. There really is a difference. Fanart could be of a French cartoon or an Austrailian cartoon or even a book series, etc, so your comment about anime groups doesn't apply here.

And about those fangirls. I group them as the ones who only comment with a "Kawaii!1111" or "Favs!+" I don't even think all of them are truly fangirls, just people who don't know how to comment properly. Fans, on the other hand, in my mind, are the people who just like something (who may be obsessed or not) but if they comment are atleast a little more intelligent with their comments.
