Ha! Now this is a good topic!
Yep...it's one in the morning over here in Indiana. Doing nothing...looking around on the internet. I have unhealthy sleeping habits. Actually I'd say that I have really evolved beyond the need for sleep. (either that or it's just the caffiene...)
Woo.

Ah, I love staying up!
Well, to be fair, I usually don't stay up if I have nothing to do. However, once I'm with a friend and we're talking, we can stay up till the wee hours of the morning just going on and on. Once, it was about religion. By 4am, it had degraded into "Lucifer peed in the pool". And if you heard the entire thing leading up to that well-stated remark, you'd realize there was logical thought behind it.

My average bedtime: 1 a.m.
On occasion I'm up till 2 a.m., and have been up as late as 4. I'm trying to keep it around 12 midnight . . . not doing a good job, am I? _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I rarely go to classes, so I can stay up as long as I like. I usually go to sleep around 3-4 am and wake up when I want to but always before 13:37 (that's the time I set on my alarmclock )
Going to bed early for me is like 2 am. Sometimes I can even hear birds singing outside because it's getting morning again. |

I don't need to sleep. Even as a baby, I wouldn't go to bed when my parents told me. We found out early on that I had my dad's insomnia. Unlike my dad, however, I refuse to take medications. They make my dreams disturbing and I wake up in a cold sweat. On average, I need about an hour or so of sleep a night, if that. I run better without sleep. I don't really know why. I've stayed up for almost whole weeks without any sleep whatsoever. I finally drop off in alegebra or World Geography, but then I wake up when the bell rings and can't sleep again for at least another day or two.
When people say they're going to 'hit the sack early' the first thought in my head is, It's not even 4:00am yet. Most of my friends are insomniacs too, though. My best guy friend and I once had a conversation on the phone that lasted a full 48 hours. XP

I go to bed pretty early, 'cos i have a seven year old sister and i share a room wth her, so if I wanna stay up I have to do it in the closet. And i STILL have no TV, so there's not much to do. |

Well, can't say it's entirely for no reason...
In the summer I'm usually up till 6 or 7am then sleep till 2 or 3 in the afternoon. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

I went to bed at 9AM this morning.
Then I got up at 2 and went into work....late (was supposed to get up at 11)
I like sleep...Just not at night. I'll sleep like 10-12 hours if not awakened, but only in daylight. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

What you said does not comply in any way to medical facts, and facts upon the human bodies limits. It's a fact that the human body starts to slowly shut down if you go 5 or more days without sleep. Just like it's a fact you can go without food for 7 days techincally without dying, but only 3 days without water before dying. What you said just does not add up.
Me, i haven't voted and i won't because i don't like the options. They have nothing to do with insomnia so why should i? It's basically, do i stay up because i want to, or i'm spoiled or just being irresponsible. Or what not. I don't stay up just because i want to. I'm up at all hours of the night because i have severe insomnia. Medication does not work for me either, and even if it did, i wouldn't be able to take it on a regular basis. I hate swallowing pills everday. That's more unhealthy if you ask me. Well, unless those pills are preventing you from literally having a heart attack but i'm sure you all get the point.
When i do sleep though, or should i say when i sleep best, tends to be during day light time. I just can't sleep when i want though or when i technically should by other's standards. Some people sleep better durign the daytime. Some at night. It doesn't mean it's unhealthy nesecarry, doesn't mean it is either.
But yeah, i have insomnia rather badly. The other night i was exhausted but i laid in bed for an hour, unable ot fall asleep <_< so i ended up getting up and talking to Jay until 5am or what not. It's annoying though. And after so long of it, i have my crash and burn periods through out the year about two or three times a year. Oh joy for those. |

Let me specify: I have evolved beyond the need to sleep at night. I can sleep all through the day, no prob. Nothing of interest happens in daylight hours anyway. The night time is the right time. From 7 pm to 4 or 5 am, I am wide awake. That is most likely the time you people will catch me online. So, I have no need to sleep, except where the daytime is included. _________________

I go through periods where I have a sh*tload of probs sleeping. Any sound keeps me up. I can plug my ears and still think I hear it. Snoring would be one of those sounds. Ash snores.. and the people upstairs have a dog that snores and i can hear it. I'll stay up all night.. laying down.. trying so hard to sleep but I just can't do it. Then I'm all out of it the next day and I try not to sleep during the day so i can fall asleep at night.. but that don't work :)
But then there are the times when I can sleep pretty much normally... wake up the next day.. then wanna go back to sleep again _________________ |

A good thing to do at school if you sleep during the day is wear sunglasses. To my knowledge there's no rule against sunglasses and if you get black enough lenses know one can be too sure you're awake or not It only works if you don't give obvious signs or snore...
Another good thing to do if you can't afford sunglasses is to buy a blindfold. That works just as well and you can claim to be blind so that you won't have to do half the work in your class No one I know has pulled off either one so you may be the first |
