This is a series of wallpapers I made. I know it's nothing fancy, I just wanted to show my appreciation for my all-time favorite record company. And I know some of these artists didn't make the charts when they were signed to the label (then again, some of the artists here didn't make the charts period!), but I still like the stuff they did, and the stuff they did when they were signed to the label. And I realized during the process I forgot some artists. Anyway,

This first one focuses Mostly on the 50s, 60s and 70s, and 1980 (+part of '81). Some of the artists are The Coasters, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Buffalo Springfield, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos, The Spinners, Queen, Hall & Oates, Eric Clapton, Genesis, AC/DC, Gary Numan, Pete Townshend, and The Cars, as well as others.

This next one focuses on most of the 1980s. The artists on this one are Foreigner, Dokken, Roberta Flack, Kix, Twisted Sister, Alphaville, Laura Branigan, Phil Collins, Ratt, Motley Crue, John Parr, Roger Daltrey, Stevie Nicks, The System, Bob Geldof, David Foster, Howard Jones, Mike + The Mechanics, Nu Shooz, Peter Frampton, and Ted Nugent.

This one focuses on the end of the 80s, and the early 90s. The artists here are:Frehley's Comet, LeVert, Saga, Testament, Tommy Shaw, U2, Anthrax, Dirty Looks, INXS, Manowar, Steve Winwood, White Lion, The Escape Club, When In Rome, Mr. Big, Skid Row, Winger, Pantera, Dr. Dre, Inner Circle, Snoop Dogg, Rush, and SNOW.

This last one focuses on the rest of the 1990s, and 2000-2005. The artists here are All-4-One, Brandy, Bush, Hootie & The Blowfish, Tom Jones, Collective Soul, Junior M.A.F.I.A., CIV, Extra Fancy, Edwin McCain, Sugar Ray, Fat Joe, Queensrche, Kid Rock, Lil' Kim, Uncle Kracker, The Cult, P.O.D., Audiovent, Shinedown, JET, Sean Paul, Twista, and The Darkness.

This one I made recently (12/21/05). This one focuses on Atlantic Records and the labels that WERE part of it before in the past (but not anymore), labels that have been part of it since the particular label formed, and labels that are part of it TODAY.

Then snow and the darkness were there, and that killed it. And Mr. Big. And everything from 1990 on fuckin' sucked.

Curious to have someone a fan of an entire label, given that labels are...shall we say...not particularly consistent nor music-oriented, save for smaller ones like Liquor and Poker (who are often subparts of the big boys but not connected to the overall marketing scheme of the britneys and u2s...).

They've all screwed everybody at one time or another, so I suppose you can't say one is worse than the other. 'Cept maybe Geffen.

mm Baz and Rachel. 'Cept Baz is god knows where these days. Skid Row is now "those other guys". Good guys, though. Phil Varone, yes please. Who is also no longer with them, last I heard, Skid Row has pretty much fallen apart.
