I've been jogging habitually for about 4 months now and I'm really get sick of listening the techno CDs I have and it's not that I don't own enough (14 ablums), but I'd really like some suggestions for any music w/a good loud base to pace jogging. Preferably in the category of trance/techno/rave/electronica or whatever the f**k it's called.
As for bashing me for liking liking techno...take your best shot...I've already been crucified for admitting I like it.
Above all, don't suggest Louie Devito b/c I have almost all of his CDs...not that they're spectacular by any means, but getting two CDs for the price of one is to my benefit.
Also my much loved pair of sony wrap-around earphones broke the other day and
I'm not really sure what pair I should buy next b/c I have a Phillips mp3 player, but I need a pair of earphones that are much louder for it. |

Ew, techno.
Actually, I'm a huge trance fan. Far more melodic than straight-up techno, and always great for playing in the background. It's pretty much all I listen to besides some random bemani and J-pop on the side. Um, I'm not an expert on CDs, as a lot of the good stuff is imported from Europe and is thus hideously expensive, but since you seem to have an mp3 player, if you want to keep from getting bored, you can check out some sites where up-and-coming DJs put up their mixes for download. DJSource is my favorite site for that sort of thing - the sticky threads have some really nice mixes in them. I'd go for the straight-up trance, although the progressive stuff might be good too, as that's all about beat and basslines.
If you have BitTorrent, then I'd advise you to look for some episodes of Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance weekly radio show. He showcases the latest and greatest trance tracks - good variety and great songs. I'm quite the fan.
Hope that's enough to get you started. ^_^ |

Wow, way to add meaningful discussion to this topic. Why don't you list some of your favorite techno artists/songs?
Oh oh oh, and just because I just happened to be listening to this one song that I love...! Check out Onoken's mp3 section - he makes some really awesome songs. I highly highly recommend Vijore and BRIGHTONE (do a search on the page - they're written in English, even if all the comments are in Japanese). Hehe, I'm definitely entering one of those songs in my next round of the Rate that Song game over in the rating game subforum. |

Paul Oakenfold is rather good. Ready, Steady, Go! is probably the best song you can listen to running. It really can give you a start. FelixdaHousecat have their moments, but I'm really an Oakenfold fan. And, I know, this is almost blasphemous...but Moby has his moments, too. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |

Suggesting artists is much appreciated, but I feel like I don't have time to download individual songs and would much rather have suggestions for entire CDs b/c downloading individual songs is such a pain in the ass...I'd rather buy a somewhat mediocre CD w/a few good songs and I can just get used to the rest...
I think the last techno/Dance CD I bought was Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor
*sigh* what an awesome CD...I could actually jog consistantly to all of her songs...maybe that's kind of music I'm looking for...DANCE MUSIC! Who knew.... |

Benny Benassi!
Blah, I don't really know any techno artists, I just listen to specific songs that I like, and techno remixes of stuff, so I'm generally very unhelpful. |

I think I'll just stick w/buying Louie Devito CDs b/c I'm fairly happy w/what he mixes, but I think I've discovered heaven-on-a-stick....*drumroll* THE GYPSY KINGS! They're not techno by any meaning of the word, but they have the most important part of jogging music down...a consistant beat. ^_^ They're latin music is so relaxing too...it's like I just get swept away to an exotic Spanish hideaway...*swoon sigh* |

Check out "Baila Me". Awesome song. Though I haven't heard much of 'em in like, 2 years. So the song name may be wrong. _________________

Techno. Well, if you don't mind vocals accompanying it (Some people just like it "pure") I'd reccomend Blmchen. Nice vocals and music, but some of the songs are much better than others, plain and simple.
Word of warning, She sings In German, but it's not really that much of a problem for me, sounds nice. :3 _________________ |

ok here's the thing.
i recommend the
venga boys cd with we like to party. good cd even though its pretty weird lookin <_<
just anything with a really good beat will do.
or if you have the money $40 bucks can get you and xm radio. you can put it in your car and listen there or broadcast it threw FM radio. and listen while your on the treadmill.
or if you jog outside i know you wont have the money but its a satellite radio that records 5 hours worth of music and gets live feed from the satellite.
its called the MyFi from xm radio. its the portable unit supposed to work anywhere . but its probably to expensive for you. xm has alot of channels like that and there's not commercials
so venga boys for sure. _________________ I'm a bit silly on the goofy side on nonsense. ^_^ |

XM radio really wouldn't do me a whole lot of good b/c I've already purchased a $200 mp3 and intend to use it...besides there's are always that nasty fee per month for the satellite broadcast. <_< |

While it seems you are now content with your music, Alicia, I just remembered another techno band that actually is really, really bitchin'.
Juno Reactor. Good stuff. You should look into it. _________________ What does it all MEAN? |
