Rose are you in a coven? I doubt it. 18 is the age that they'll allow people into a coven. and only then are you wiccan, because you know the true names of the Goddess and God.
End of story. Your just another fluffy in the dust. : ( Sad but true. Call yourself a pagan next time. _________________

I read it all! Woo! I rock!
Anyway. I agree totally. These losers who go around saying they're witches or vampires or whatever the hell...they need to get out a little more. Visit a freaking thereapist.
Some goths are pretty cool, but I agree that people shouldn't really be judged by a label. Although anyone from the UK will understand how difficult it is to not be put off by CHAVs.
To be honest, though...I wouldn't mind a pentacle necklace. I don't care who wears them, I just think they look cool.
Ironically, isn't it the non-conformist types who join these Wicca things? All of them dressing the same, giving themselves similarly themed names and taking away everything that made them unique and saying "Mom, this is who I am!"
I don't know where I'm going with this. I just appear to be ranting...oh well. _________________ You'll get a PS3 for this game...

Orlando. I'd like you to note you didn't read any of the other posts. That site is about fluffy wiccans.
Not all wiccans are like that. Just the bad, stupid, ass covered with acne trying to put hexs on their science teacher because they failed their exam, wiccans.

So out of curiosity DF, since you're not old enough to be a wiccan, what are you or rather, what do you believe in? Is there a way to be wicca underage, like a wicca-in-training so to speak? I'm just like really curious now 'cuz I never knew that before. Just thought you like can choose to become a wiccan but now I see that its just the half-assed converting of tweens when they want to rebel.
That whole thread reminded me of this guy I knew this summer. He always told me how he was wicca and he wore his pentagram wherever he went, for all the world to see and if someone asked him about why he had the devil symbol on him, he would lecture that person about how if you wear the right way, then it means nature but if you wear it upside down, then it means the devil.
I don't know if he was right about that or not but I'm still Catholic so its still evil to me but since I know how this kid really is behind the scary pentagram, its more of a half-assed evil. Semi-evil if you will.
His mom wanted me to go out with him at one point. I think it was because she was like in denial of him being "wicca" and still thought that he read the Bible in his bathtub everynight and since I had this rep of being a nice girl, she thought we'd be a great pair. All I can say to that is thank God Phil got to me first. _________________ Vaccum cleaners may look fun, but are deadly sex toys. as are certain vegetables like, terri schiavo -Powtaz |

I'm not a wiccan. I'm not even going to tell you what exact branch of anything that I am. because I know the reaction it will get.
"Hehe so you believe that get out of _________ (Fictional popular book that i've probably read)."
A wiccan can only be a wiccan once placed into a coven. Simple. There is no "wiccan-in-training" program for you to get into a coven. If you do have any "training" it's either by your family or mostly by a person you respect in that coven you want to get into. But far be it from you having to have someone there to talk to you and help you out.
The interwebs is a good place to find different wicca and witchcraft users (Notice wicca =/= witchcraft) groups. But a lot of tweens these days are reading SilverRavenmoon (and some old fo-gies) and are doing that whole "I'm a goth and I can wiggle my ears and curse you at the same time." Um no, hun. No.
First off, There's the wiccan rede "Harm none ye, lest three times three." Which is basically saying do what you want, but don't harm anyone or you are going to get it turned back on you three times three.
Now not all witches follow that code. Wiccans =/= Witches. So that's where all the "curses, hexes, etc" comes from.
if anyone dares bring up "Oh black magic" blah bullshit, I'm so pwning you on that. Why? Because magic has no color. Fluffy crap puts color on magic. The only thing that magic is colored with is intent.
There is no such thing as white magic or black magic or green magic (believe me I've heard that before and that's just stupid.)
So yeah. : D _________________

I lub-lub ya, Will. <3 Nice article.
I have known (read: talked to) so many people in real life and on the interweb that claim to be wiccans/witches and go off spouting on black magic (I read DF's last post about colored magic - Haha, great!! ) and ancient rituals involving dead frogs and bleach. I always knew that Wicca was a real religion, but I pretty much assumed that the real wiccans were a much mellower people, not into all the hexation and such (which DF confirmed, so w00t!).
It's said when people form the wrong stereotypical idea about anything, but especially religion, without trying to find out a little about it. It's the same with us Christians. The ones who give us a bad name are somehow always the loudest.
And I have a friend in real life who says the same thing about the pentagram - one way it's good and another it's bad - and I don't believe it. Symbols are what you make them, I think, so if you have something harmless in mind, so be it. But it's still a no-no for me.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned the gaia witchcraft thread: I skimmed over that when I used to frequent gaia. Pretty durn hilarious, if I do say so myself. Does anyone remember the completely serious thread about being the reincarnation of a wolf? I don't remember if the person who started it used wicca as their religion of reincarnation. They might have. DF, since you're the resident expert and I'm not arsed enough to look it up, do wiccans even believe in reincarnation?

I sense the love. Every rivalship has its worshippers. 8D
OT, I have one friend who's wiccan (she's 20-something odd years old) and she honestly seems like any other person. It's the sh*tty poser/idiots/little girls who think that wiccans = witches and spoil the whole shiznit for everyone else. :/ _________________

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Haha, yes, that thread is full of good times to be had. ^^
