It is possible to crop an image in MS Paint, you just have to be creative in how you do it.

1 - Make sure you're viewing the upper-left area of the image.
2 - Hit Ctrl+A to select the entire image.
3 - Click and drag the image up and to the left, until you've moved all empty space off of the border. Then click on the rectangular select (or any other) tool to un-select the image. Voil! The top and lefthand edges are now cropped.
4 - But you're not done yet. Locate the lower-right portion of your drawing with your mouse, so that the entire subject/character/etc. is up and to the left of the mouse. Write down or memorize the coordinates of this location (shown in the lower-right area of Paint's screen).
5 - Hit Ctrl+E, and type those coordinates in as your image size. (Or, locate the image's lower-right corner handle, click and drag it to trim off empty space from the bottom and right edges)
6 - Voil! Righthand and bottom borders cropped.

This is less work and therefore greater than steps 4/5. 8D

To be honest, I crop everything in Paint. No idea, why, got better things to do it with.

Me too. It's because I'm too lazy to load up something else for something like mere cropping (although I have a strange suspicion that PSP7 loads faster than MSP on my computer...).

I use Microsoft Image Editor. Very Happy Yanno, that one thing that XP doesn't have that makes 2K moar awesome.

Let's keep the Paint discussion separate from the kiriban topic, shall we?

*grabs scissors and slices topic in half*

There. Smile

That only works if the new image size is smaller than the area you select, otherwise you'll still have empty space left over.

More specifically:
- Use rectangular select to highlight the area you wish to keep.
- Copy it to the Clipboard (Ctrl+C or Edit > Copy)
- Hit Ctrl+E (Image > Attributes), type in "1" and "1" for your image's dimensions (Width and Height).
- Paste from Clipboard (Ctrl+V or Edit > Paste).
- MS Paint asks you if you want the area enlarged to fit the pasted area, click Yes.
- Cropped.

Use Hp image zone plus if you have it on your comp, it makes it easier to crop than paint.
