I am amazed that there isn't a thread about this already.
I wasn't sure if TV and movies was the way to go, or if I should post it in music because if there wasn't music the video wouldn't exist...
Just post your favorite videos and a little description of why you like them.... I will start with....
Red hot chilli peppers- Californication
Its amazing how they use technology to digitalize four persons and a city, make them run all around it and make it a great video. Plainly amazing... _________________

I always liked "Oooh" by De La Soul. It's a high budget video, featuring a spoof of the Wizard of Oz. Redman plays the Wiz. Dave Chappelle is in it too. Probably the best video ever. |

I've always like Aphex Twin's video for "Come to Daddy". It's such a weird video. Makes for interesting screenshots to be used as avatars though. Plus, it has midgets. |

I really like White Orchid by the white stripes
it has an insanely cool vibe, and i am sightly obessive about the outfits. _________________ My candle burns at both ends;

Free as a Bird by the beatles is really cool 'cause it's like playing "spot the referance". _________________ |

P.O.D. --Youth of the Nation
My Chemical Romance-- Vampires Will Never Hurt You
She Wants Revenge-- Tear You Apart
Panic! At The Disco-- I Write Sins, Not Tragedies
These.. mostly have to do with the songs... but the videos are pretty cool too.... I love the... intensity of Youth Of The Nation, i love the band, song, and the goth/darkness of Vampires Will Never Hurt You. And I write sins not tragedies, that song is so catchy, and the cideo is fun, and i love the cirus theme. Tear you apart... love the song, and the video is interesting, its like... a story almost.

Night Ranger-Sentimental Street
Not just Night Ranger's best video, but they're best tune ever! It starts off with a TV report about the band missing, then it switches to a scene of the band on an island or something, then from there on out, the video mostly focuses on the band touring and playing live.
Alphaville-Forever Young
Well, okay, I wouldn't say the video is remarkable, but this IS one of the greatest songs of all time. It focuses on a bunch of people in a chamber or something with the band playing.
Lionel Richie-Dancing On The Ceiling
A classic music video. Nothing but endless fun from beginning to end. It starts off with a helicopter view of the city, then the camera zooms down on one of the buildings, and then Lionel and a guitar player and drummer pull up in a car and get out, and they're chatting on their way up to the top or whatever, and the guitar player and drummer are playing their instruments along the way. When they get to the top, Lionel hears something down the hall, and they go to check it out, and they see a bunch of people having a party and decide to join in. People (including Lionel) start dancing on the ceiling at random points in the video, and at the end of the video, Rodney Dangerfield shows up. Classic!!!!!
Johnny Hates Jazz-Shattered Dreams (UK Version)
I absolutely love this song and video.
a Ha-Take On Me
Now THIS is a timeless music video!
Dire Straits-Money For Nothing
I shouldn't have to explain this one.
Peter Frampton-All Eyes On You
This is in my opinion Frampton's greatest tune ever. This song as well as the other tracks on Premonition (the album the song is from) are much better than anything he's ever done! The video switches back and forth from what's either Peter playing at two studios or playing at one studio, and another place that he's rehearsing with the back-up band at. This song should've hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, The Adult Contemporary Chart, and the Rock Singles Chart back in 1986!
I can't think of any others right now. |

Greenday's Walking Contradiction is a pretty funny video to watch.
Also, any video by Tool is automatically better than you. _________________

In my eyes, the Wall is the Grandaddy of All Music Videos. Although, if I had to pick just one sequence of it, it would probably be one of the animated ones like Goodbye Blue Sky or Empty Spaces. The bit at the beginning of the former where the giant metal eagle erupts out of the dove... yeah... Just a great piece of work.
I'd like the sequence for the Trial a lot more if the lip sync was better... _________________

If we want to go into full fledged musicals, Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 is god-send. I love that whole album, so combine it with cheesy anime and I'm good for the weekend. _________________
