What are you like?! People can buy game guide books if they want to. Sometimes, it might be because people like the artwork and want that as reference for fan art, and the like. I know you can get images off the internet, but think of the outdated guide book.
Fix'd.
And if you notice, the person obviously was using it for in-game progress, NOT art. Don't get pissy because you made a bad poll. No need to drag it out into other threads, deary.
Anyway, today I got DOA4. Beat 3 character's stories so far. Ah...drunken master... But now I have to go to work, so oh well. I only got it because I found a 50 dollar gift card for Best Buy. It'll keep me busy until wednesday when KH2 comes out!!!!1 (here anyway) |
Besides, whoever is stupid enough to buy a guide nowadays is just retarded.
My computer and console(s) are in different rooms. Having a hardcopy right there when I'm playing beats the crap out of having to leave the game on pause and go surf something up. So... it depends on the guide, really. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Print button? If I ever need it I just go look at the computer and maybe write it down if I really have to. It's just not worth whatever they want for money.
Now that I just got home...time for more DOA4! I need to do training mode and learn all the special moves, I never did learn what they were throughout the 3 stories I did..... |

I don't buy guide books, but I will browse them at the store for the art. Never buy it for the art, though - that's what art books are for. 8D
Besides, guidebooks are a lot easier to follow than gamefaqs because those are only text files and unless the author is really good at ASCII, it helps to have the maps right in front of you. :X Colour also helps to keep people's interest for those who hate looking at text-heavy things. _________________

Yu-Gi-Oh! Ultimate Masters 2006. I got say this game is not like the other ones, there's no dueling other characters like Jaden and such. Besides that it's a pretty good game. Why? Because the archfiend and darkworld cards finally made the cut. _________________
Brian Danielson, more importent that any anime or anime character, why? Cause he actually exists. |

I really, really want Kingdom Hearts II. ;_; The previews are making me sad. So all a worthless guy like me can do, is replay the ending of KH1 all day long .
Be happy that it comes out next week. ^^- I know quite afew people who'll be extremely jittery the day before. XD
My mom just pre-ordered it for me! Can't wait, can't wait!!!
Gotta agree with you on your hatred of guidebooks. Although there are some I would just get for art.
Anyway, the last guidebook I bought was for GTA: San Andreas. The piece of s**t gave me all the wrong locations for horseshoes, gang-tags and all that other crap.
Bit of advice, if you want a guidebook, use the internet. If you want to pretty pictures of the internet, get a guidebook _________________ You'll get a PS3 for this game...

Shadow of the Collossus (sp?). Bought it on Saturday and I'm fair enjoying it. I've beat about 5 of them so far, don't know how far into the game that is though. Still, the sight of Wanda clambering up some hairy beast before stabbing it with his trusty sword hasn't got old yet. ^_^ _________________ "You know what? Ico & Shadow Of The Colussus aren't known for their length - it's definatly a sensual experience more than a game. I've not played Ico in about 2 weeks, but after only around 3 hours I'm fairly sure I'm near the end - possibly another 2-3 hours or so.
I haven't played Shadow Of The Colossus, but the best description I've yet to hear of it is "ambient gaming". |

I can see why they'd say that. Plus there's no real "levels" as such. It's just find a boss, kill him, go back to the temple, find a boss, kill him, etc.
Plus if I get bored, there's always World of Warcraft for me as well. _________________ "You know what? My squirrel instinct tells me he's even more of a bastard than I first thought." - Gene Hunt |

Dragon Quest VIII. Something tells me that this game hit Europe before NA, but that's okay 'cause I actually quite like the accents. :3 I think I still like DQ5 more, despite the fact that I'd never actually finished it. And so far, this DQ game feels a lot like the other DQ games - you get assraped a lot in the early parts of the game. According to Wikipedia, Dragon Quest VIII was out in America a whole 5 months before Europe. |

Mmm, not surprising considering the way RPGs usually get licensed, although the voice acting using primarily people with British/European (can't discern between all the little accents like Scottish, Irish, etc, shutup XD) accents made me think that this game hung out quite a while on the other side of the blue before getting over here. All in all, a nice touch. :3
I think I might restart Summon Night 2. Too bad I suck so much at strategy. 8D
That's it. Magna does not work as a primary summoner if I also use Nesty. DX I must have been on some mad crack when I decided that... But I wanna get the S rank summon in something... <<; Boo. Raising a party evenly is for Pokemon fans and people with brains. I'm just gonna do what my friend rec'd and just raise Magna (swordsman) and Nesty and screw all the other party members in the process. 8D Who needs an even party (~8 people) of level 30 when you can just have a level 60 duo who annihilate all the enemies that were designed for a level 30 party? 8D
That, and training in general was too much work. One half hour battle for enough experience to maybe level one or two characters up? No thanks. SRPGs... <<; _________________

Maybe they are British voice actors, I don't know, but even if it was, it'd still take a while to come over here as generally developers want a Europe-wide launch and not a Britain-wide launch.
Which is annoying. |
