Animes Dubbed,censored,missing Some Episodes

Heh. I remember watching the dubbed Sailor Moon & wondered "why did they change so much stuff in the dub version-- more than 5 things changed in episode 1!"

I only watched the few episodes of the subtitled Naruto, so I'm not so sure about how Sakura acts. But I do remember in the dub version on that one episode (Sasuke & Sakura: Friend of foe, or something like that. ^_^) where she was sooooo desperate to kiss Sasuke.

Yep, I think she is a whore myself, but ya know no one has to go through my opinion! *waves hand* go ahead & flame me if you have to. <_<

I'v never seen the origanal of any anime, i'm realy missing out! Sad

i cant find any stations in my area other then YTV that play anime...but i've herd that it MAY become a all anime network! I think they have to cut alot of it out so that they can fit REALLY long Commercials in! its like 15min show and 15min Commercials I HATE THAT!

I like to watch the dubbed anime first to see if I like the show, thin if I do I get the subtitled version to see what it's realy like.

yes, we do have dub, but that doesn't stop other people from buying the origonal from E-Bay or soemthing.

I'm not really a fan of Inuyasha,but out of the 400+ episodes,olny 167 are dubbed.That's kind of annoying,considering the fact that American fans most likely want to watch the whole series.I hate dubbed anime.Shaman King had a good plot but the dubbers totally wrecked it.I don't really have a problem with the dubbed version of Yuu Yuu Hakusho,but why did they have to change Shuichi to Suuichi?Shuichi is easier to pronounce for me.If someone's going to dub Bleach,I'll know the world is coming to an end.

The olny thing I like about dubbed anime is the English equivalent of the original Japanese voice actor.I'd like to hear what people think a character sounds like in English,but usually I like the orioginal one more.

Wow, I can't believe some people hate the Naruto dub. I actually think it's pretty good. I have no problem with English dubs as a concept; in fact, I think a GOOD, UNBUTCHERED dub is a nice compliment to a good series. I prefer watching some shows such as Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell in English.

However, most stuff that 4Kids touches is turned to crap. Take for instance, One Piece. I don't know how many people here are familiar with the original version, but seriously, this has to be one of the worst butchered animes in all of history.
They've already 30 episodes short of the original due to cutting/merging whole episodes and even whole story arcs. The censoring is ridiculous (poison suction cups, rubber knives, military carrying super-soakers), the voices and acting are terrible and innapropriate for the most part; They totally killed Usopp and Sanji. Banghead

Not to mention they cut so many moments of real character developement, and the script is so full of dumbed-down dialogue and stupid puns that it's hard to take anything seriously. I also hate their crappy music (they're too cheap to purchase the original score's rights) and they keep changing characters' names. They really turned a great story into a sad mockery.

Ugh, I agree entirely on the One Piece thing. I'm a manga fan 300% for One Piece, but whenever I mention One Piece, even to my anime friends, they just think that's it's retarded, because they never took the time to look into it after the terrible, terrible dub.

But I also don't like the Naruto dub. I don't like the voices, and I don't like seeing everyone coloured in. For the longest time, I thought Gaara's hair was blonde. XD Plus, the believe it thing... but I'm sure that drives everyone crazy.

Actually, I'm not really a fan of anime at all, if I have access to the manga. Well, I like the Inuyasha anime better, because the drawing style is prettier, and I don't mind Yu Yu Hakusho (probably only because I've only seen bits XD), but other than that, every anime seems inferior to the manga to me. Even the original Japanese anime. . . . .

I am more of an anime fan than a manga fan myself, but I actually like the One Piece manga better than even the original version of the anime (I watch it fansubbed), mostly due to no retarded filler material, and the overall quality of the artwork, which has become very beautiful in more recent times. I've read all the way up to the most recent chapter (Chapter 405). At least Viz is doing a decent job with releasing the manga aside from a few complaints here and there. But even for people who are reading the English manga, a lot of them are still tainted by the dub because of the impression it leaves. Sad

I'm only on chapter three-fifty-something.... (the fact that I can't remember is probably the reason why I stopped reading it XD) But yeah. It's sad how the dub changes people's opinion of the story, when it is so good. I swear, if they would just pick proper voice actors, everyone would love the show so much more. Like, in recent episodes that I have seen, Captain Kuro's voice... >:[ and those two cat people who I can't remember their names who fight Zoro... no one has ever had a voice that hideously disfigured.

Kuro, Butchi and Sham are far from the worst of the voices. Look no further than Sanji and Usopp >_< Actually in more recent episodes, which is now in Alabasta (I'm a masochist, I have to see them kill the show), a lot of the minor characters have been getting decent voices, but then they get back to the main cast and they mostly are bad, except maybe Zoro and Chopper. They gave Ace a good voice, but renamed him "Portgaz D. Trace" and now his nickname is "Trace Heatfist". Is fire a banned word from TV? Oh yeah, and Smoker was changed to "Chaser", and instead of smoking cigars, smoke just drifts out of his mouth, it's kind of creepy.

I don't care so much about censoring in a reasonable way, it's the overall production quality between voices, acting, music, and script that makes it such a failure. I don't think 4Kids understand what makes One Piece so popular in Japan. They took out everything good about it.

but, i think mew mew power is TERRIBLE, not only did they change ALL the names to something really stupid (like ichigo into ZOEY) they didnt even stick to the story, ive seen the very first episode, and i thought it was terrible, then, i watched some other ones, and they were terible, i also didnt know masha could talk either, i think that they just added that in. its annoying that they turn the whole story into something stupid.

Well I'm never seen the original undubbed series, or read the manga... but I was REALLY into MMP at one point. And I think Cyniclone Dren is the worst name ever. Kish was the greatest character ever. I have heard that they dubbed that show really badly. But you know, it's the same with basically everything 4Kids does.

I only stopped because I couldn't remember what chapter I was at. >.< Usopp's voice is terrible... but i like Sanji's voice. XD I'm cool like that.
