Don't learn a language off the internet because it can easily contain false information. I know there's lots of people out there who'd love to make a site that "teaches" stuff like "oresama wa kami no hou ga tsuyoi" = "I like turtles" 8D
Go find yourself a tutor or a school/class. Internet doesn't help unless you already know the basics.

The way I learned English
1. learn the alphabets
2. learn how they are pronounced by the way they are grouped.
3. borrow/steal/buy about 20 children's books and read them out loud over and over again, looking up words as you go.
4. actually live in the vincinity of the language for about a year.
5. Fluency
I'm doing the same thing with French, read about 30 children's book about 5 times over by now, planning to go to Quebec soon.
If you're not living near places where you can easily attain children's books, (for Japanese, it HAS to be children's books because they have helpful hiragana pronunciation guide over kanjis) or can't live in the language area for few months to fully achieve the necessary conversational skills, too bad for you., this method won't work. _________________ "Sarah's future makes me sad." - Benk |

I listen to the "JapanesePod101" podcast, which is available on iTunes or at www.japanesepod101.com
I'm not that far into the lessons yet, put I've already learned a lot and it really helps if you can hear the proninciation instead of just reading it. |
