AC/DC are hard rock legends. Metallica are a bunch of no-talent pansies. |

ACDC is better because of their "humor", and their guitarist, Angus Young! _________________ www.redwall.org www.raiders.com

Tis a tie. Metallicas guitarist it the god of thrash. Angus Young is the God or Hard rock. You can't really compare them. I love them both, but I think that metallica ownes them on pretty much all aspects.
And how the hell is Metallica a bunch of "no talent panisies"? There drummer can rock a kit, there guitarist is a god, there singer is also a god, there bassist is okay. Ac/Dc is good too, but metallica ownes ALL! |

Meh, I opted for AC/DC. I don't particularly like Metallica. AC/DC is far more classic, anyway. |

God, i love you man
The first members of Metallica are probably some of the best Musicians ever
Hetfield = God as Zekk said
Ulrich : is a Brilliant drummer
Mustaine: is fuckin excellent whether he is with Metallica or Megadeth
Cliff Burton : before his death was one of the greatest bass guitarists ever _________________ |

Metallica, their songs need a lot of skill to play, while ACDC's are good but they are much softer. _________________
while ACDC's are good but they are much softer
Uh, yeah, that's the point.
AC/DC are more prolific and have survived a major band member death better than Met have. St. Anger...christ.
Whereas AC/DC are just as good if not better in a lot of ways with Brian instead of Bon.
Sure, it's apples to oranges, but all music comparisons are unless you're trying to compare crappy clone bands like Poison to Warrant. S'why you have to generalize and not say "____ can shred like crazy and ___ can't" when the second guy may be a brilliant slide guitarist that is more fitting to the style.
Oh, and Some Kind of Monster was pathetic. No one wants to see a metal band talk about their feelings. Ever. It would have been ok if they released an amazing, epic album to make up for it, but instead they put out the piece of garbage I wouldn't even buy used.
Their glory days passed a long time ago. They need to either call it a day or start making the greatest hits rounds like KISS until one of them dies.
On the other hand, AC/DC are a very formulaic band. There's no drastic evolution between albums, and while some critics bitch that they made ten albums that all sound the same, as Angus so nicely put it "That's a lie! We've made eleven albums that all sound the same!". The only reason for a band to evolve is if that's the kind of music they feel they should be making. The ones who evolve to fit commercial trends will always fail without exception because they end up shallow pieces of crap (St. Anger...).
Highway To Hell sounds just as good as For Those About To Rock which is just as good as Back In Black and so on and so on. It's who they are, it's what they do, and they keep cranking out classics. Sure, Met has great musicians, but at a certain point all the guitarists are pretty damn equal in skill. Angus isn't the best in the world and is really no contest to the likes of Eddie Van Halen or Malmsteen, but he plays appropriately for their sound.
Shredding through Hells Bells would be no more appropriate than cranking up the distortion to death metal levels.
AC/DC 4 teh win. _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

AC/DC
because, AC/DC has angus young, and they seemed to me to have way more fun then metallica.
ps.
the lack of the / in AC/DC should not bother me as much as it does. _________________ My candle burns at both ends;

Honestly, both have their moments. I like some AC/DC songs and some Metallica songs, and most others I can't stand.
Eh, I'm not gonna fangirl either of 'em. |

Fallen already reached this thread so at this point anything I said would be redundant.
I'll just put this out here for you guys: I thought Met were all douches before the Napster incident. _________________

I like metallica's older stuff ever since St. Anger...........
Yeah definatley AC/DC (although even I find this band to be a wee tad overrated)
But on the birghter aspect of my oppinion if I were stranded on an island with a choice between Metallicas greates hits and AC/DC's I'd probably go with AC/DC |

Metallica's old music kicks ass, and would tie with AC/DC, but Metallica falls to AC/DC now.
Long live Metallica's old music. _________________ I'm a zombie. Yarg.

Meh, I don't really like either, actually. AC/DC is more of a band that I don't mind listening to any of their songs (like, I wouldn't change the station) but then, Metallica has a couple of songs that I love, like The Unforgiven, Enter Sandman, and Nothing Else Matters, and a couple of songs of theirs that I hate, like St. Anger. (It was crap the first time, then it got way overplayed...).
So it's nearly even in my books, but I vote Metallica. |
