Is It Raito Or Light?

Which is it? I know Raito is the direct katakana translation from Light, but I've seen both used. Does it all come down to personal preference, and which do you use?

I prefer Raito because it actually feels like a name, and manga artists using English in their manga inapproporatly = not cool.

Raito is what fanslations called him until the manga-ka said that his name was indeed [b]Light[/b], not Raito.

But since most peeps online read the downloadable fanslations before the officially translated series, Raito is a common name found.

It's the same thing as Remu/Rem and Ryuuku/Ryuk.
