All great books by the man Garth Nix. I strongly reccomend them if you are interested in necromancy and magic.

Never heard of the guy. Maybe I'll look him up. Is it like a series he writes? Or different kinds of books.

It's a series. I have all three :3 But I haven't gotten around to reading anything other than Sabriel. After reding it, I wanted to bad to find out what happened with Mogget and whatnot, but then I got bogged down with homework, and now, a week later, it just doens't seem like such an appealing read anymore.

Started reading Sabriel, but I hated the writing style. I couldn't stand it, and i have no idea as to why?

Couldn't say. I, for one, love Garth Nix's writing style. But that's besides the point.

The poster of this thread should probably have specified the Sabriel series, because Garth Nix has done many other good books: for example, Shade's Children and the Kingdom Key series. All are excellent, though I must say that the Sabriel series is definately my fave. ^_^ Oh, and he made sort of sequel, called "Over the Wall" I believe, though I haven't read it. Just saw it when I went somewhere for a fantasy/sci-fi convention.

Garth Nix is awesome. I loved the Sabriel series. The second one (can't spell it 'cause I don't have it in front of me. >.>) was really hard for me to get through, but I loved Sabriel. Abhorsen was... Good, but sad. To me at least.

He is one of my absolute FAVORITE authors. I've read near everything of his. I believe this is his record:

The Old Kingdom Trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen)
Across the Wall (Old Kingdom add-on, plus short stories)
The Ragwitch
The Seventh Tower (Series..And my favorite of his works)
Shade's Children
The Keys to the Kingdom (Seven book series; Monday - Thursday is out)

I've got them all! :O And so should you!
