Sega Dreamcast

i just got a dreamcast today to add to my collection of games consoles, but why does everyone hate them so? they had great games such as sega power tennis and Sonic adventure so why hate them? or is it just me and everone loves them?

I never got into the Dreamcast but I never hated it. It's just about the only system I didn't buy, but I've played it briefly. It's definitely not a bad system. I can't say I've really heard any bad things about it though, not from anyone I know.

I didn't like Dreamcast, none of their game grabbed my attention like the N64 and PSone did.

jet grind radio? wasnt it jet [i]set [/i]radio or did they name it that for the X-box re-make?

ok, you want attention to be grabbed? Jet grind radio was the first cell shaded game, just think, Megaman X command mission,l that new shooter with the guy with loads of personalitys one them say "dangerous!" and i laughed none of it possible

Actually, the Saturn had online games. And lets just say online console. Cause a pc can also be called a gaming machine... and the PC takes the cake for being the first online. I'm not trying to diss sega's strides in gaming.

It was unfortunate what happened to the dreamcast. But aside from the Genesis, Sega never had a chance. But that's not gonna stop me from loving my Saturn, or my dreamcast. I got my dreamcast on it's launch day. And I've got like 46 games for it. Not too shabby. But I got 57 games for my xbox... Smile

But the dreamcast had a really short life, due to sega pulling the plug on it. I am glad Sega is finally making money, but their games haven't been as good... since they've become a third party company.

Anyway, people hate a lot of the systems, it's a very biased area.

Phantasy Star Online is a great game, and so was chu chu rocket. I don't care if you weren't interested in the dreamcast, but it deserves respect.

The dreamcast had one of the best 3D fighting games ever made "Soul Calibur". The system had good games. You weren't interested, so what. It's no reason to be dissing it.

Kanon (and possibly AIR) is on that system. That's good enough for me, despite my never touching one before. 8D

EDIT: And it had a lot of really good RPGs on it, too. Most never made it to NA since the Dreamcast wasn't that popular here.

Yeah, AIR was on it as well.

It's still a really popular console over in rice-land, hell, they still have limited edition games being released for it. :B

Anyway, I wish I could get one to play Kanon and AIR and other misc. games, but consoles are bloody evil when it comes to shipping. Blasted weight. D:

The doom of the dreamcast was the coming of the Ps2 with it's ability to play DVD's...The Dreamcast was awesome,it did have great games, like it is where Dead or Alive 2 first appeared on consoles and Soulcalibur 1 still is better than it's not so improved sequels,The fully 3d resident evil :Code Veronica originally came from it...Gah,Sword of the Berserk rocked and my favorite cheesy co-op beat em up called Zombie Revenge(House of the dead offshoot)the only bad thing about it is that it was lean on Rpg's(Grandia 2,Skies of Arcadia)and Shenmue 1...It even had a bad game I got to play that was based on the japanese horror movie"The Ring",I got the opportunity to pump Sadako(Samaire?)full a lead,lol.
Egads,the saturn, that was some awesome 2d workhorse,the capcom games with the RAM cartridge were Arcade perfect.
