Oddly enough some systems tend to get a batch of good games in only a few areas. I think the dreamcast had great fighting games, and sports games. Sony always the RPG market. But since I'm not the biggest on rpgs that didn't bother me personally (about the dreamcast). And yeah the dvd playability was a huge advantage for the PS2. But truth be told, that system isn't a dvd player. And really no console should be. Running dvds on the same drive your run your games on... eh, just puts unnecessary ware on the system.
But yeah, the dreamcast was really the home of some the best fighting games made (aside from street fighter 2) Soul Calibur, power stone, Guilty Gear x, and dead or alive 2 were all extremely awesome games. Oh...hah, they also had the marvel vs capcom games (1&2) which I think were excluvise at the time.
Anyway, even if Sega had waited and made a more formidable system. I don't think they would've been able to duke it out with sony. And they would've surely been beaten when the xbox and cube came out. I think it would be insane if there were 4 companies competing. But yeah, ultimately I think it was sega pulling the plug. Cause even if the dreamcast was made later, and had better specs than the ps2... I just don't think it would've helped sega. I could be wrong. But yeah, it really is too bad that Sega can't have the same slice of pie (in the gaming industry) as it had in it's glory days. I mean Nintendo is still going strong. Oh well... |
.
The dreamcast had one of the best 3D fighting games ever made "Soul Calibur". The system had good games. You weren't interested, so what. It's no reason to be dissing it.
How can people hate it if Soul Calibur was on it come on.

The Dreamcast has gone extinct. It's a pity how this system died so quickly.Oh how I wish SEGA was powerful again so they can beat the crap out of Sony and Microsoft. |

I didn't buy the system since it seemed that most of the games for it were sports game near the end of it's life. There were a few games to look forward to but not enough for me to buy. _________________

No. And the US version of Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast was changed to Jet Grind Radio. The Dreamcast was an excellent console. |

Sega Dreamcast was sadly the worst console I had ever owned.
Its just the truth.
The games were not that great, I only liked Tomb Raider 4, Soul Calibur and Sonic on it, and that was it.
Just three games..... |

Dreamcast has everything. T_T Black/Matrix series, Visual Art's/KEY stuff, maybe Angelique (but I can't remember...), and I'm sure there's more... Maybe Princess Maker?
I wish I had a dreamcast simply because there's so many games that I want to play on it. Some of the games have PSX versions, too, but those are typically 3x expensive on ebay. <<; _________________

Dreamcast = Greastest console ever. Sonic Adventure and Penpen ftw.
I had like, three. But Dreamcast was really weird, all of them just stopped reading the game discs. But it will forever be my favourite.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Evolution was one of my favorite games on Sega.
I love that game! i'm glad someone else rememebers it. Not even my own family remembers this game. It's weird. But yeah. <3 |

Evolution was my first RPG. It was such an amazing game! And the good polygonal graphics=<3. For some reason, I find this better than the realism they make nowadays. Cuter and fits the whole anime-feel of the game (anime eyes, yesh). Also, the not smooth 3D rendering of Sonic looks better than the smooth renderings they have on GC and such. Sorry if this sounds grammatically funky, but do you get what I mean?
