SPOILERS AHEAD (though it shouldn't matter, you wouldn't wanna see this anyway)

Well last night i watched the worst movie ever....Well, for me it was, please don't get into a conversation about which movies you think suck there IS another thread for that, but anyway...

The blurb is really long, and it's rated R. Thats basicly all I new. On the cover it has a pink elepahant and a picture of a pretty girl kissing a pretty boy on the cheek. Looks real sweet. tell me if that has ANY thing to do with what i'm about to tell you.

WELL I put in the movie...and it begins sort of wierd...it's switching off from different characters points of veiws...like, it's show the same scene like 3 times from the POV of people in the scene. It does this for about 8-10 min...
Then like, you are beginning to think that the movie is about how teens have different way of seeing what goes on around them....but then BAM two of the kids come in and start shooting everyone in the school! They kill tons of kids, lunchladys, the principle, and one of them even kills the other one. They introduced this guy benny into the story while the shooting was happening, and all he did was help this girl out of a window, and then he was walking down the hallway, all brave, you think he's gonna do something, and then WAPOW! He's shot and killed. I mean COME ON the poor guy didn't have a single line, he was in the movie for lik 1 minute. . . . .
It was really disturbing, just the thought, and the fact that everytime they shot someone, blood would like fire out of their back....and basicly every character introduced dies, except the main shooter kid, and this guy named John, (who is the blonde guy on the cover)
I told my mom "if this movie ends in the next 5 minutes it'll be officially the worst movie i'v ever seen. I was joking...3 minutes later...it ended.
<_<
16.min

Has anyone else seen this movie?
Gawd if you haven't, DON'T...
what a waste of money Sad

Are you saying what you saw was only 16 minutes long? I went to see it in theatres and it was 2-3 hours. My friend was in it, and they filmed it here. I know other people in it, but they don't have any lines and just wander around. In the classroom scene, the blonde kid (you only see the back of his head) who asks a question is him. He was only supposed to be an extra, but during a break he went up and was bothering the actor who played the teacher, correcting some of the things he'd been saying, so the director told him to do it in the scene. $650+ royalties for one stupid line. Surprised

Yeah, the movie blows. I could stand the premise if it wasn't so horribly dull to sit through. It might have been ok if 75% of it wasn't spent walking from one place to another three different times. I want those three hours of my life back.

Actually, more entertaining was the fact we also happened to go see it with one of the main actors and his girlfriend, and he's such a freak. The couple who end up in the freezer at the end, the main boy, he was there. After the movie was over and we were going out, he kept saying completely weird things like "now was that through your eyes or mine?".

Bleh.

Oh, and we got kicked out of the theater at first. That was fun. Wish we'd have stayed out.

EDIT: Ah man, I just reread your post and noticed you had no idea what the movie was about! That had to suck. At least I knew what I was gonna see...

hmm..then maybe the DVD was dysfuncional...i saw on one side it said 16 min, and then i realized the other side said 80 min..so i flipped it and there was nothing but special features on the other side...
Yes that was one thing that bothered me...they show the people walking (especially the first time they have that main guy) walking...and walking...and walking...it gets a little "can you please get to where you are going"
I was thinking that guy was hot...but i guess if he's a creep then.... Laughing
but thats cool you know people in it. :D

have you ever watched the trailer? It has NOTHING To do with ANYTHING about most of the movie...

but can you fill me in on what happened in the two/three hour one? if it's not gonna kill my/your brains talking about it....

Basically the 3 hour one is like a horribly drawn out version of what you saw. There's probably more characters, but nothing overly exciting happens. Um... the main guy takes pictures of the girl. That ugly girl (the one that gets shot in the library) gets teased in gym for wearing pants instead of the shorts. A couple makes plans to go camping and bone each other. There's a conversation in the cafeteria about something. And you see it all four times from each character.

I understand the point, that it's supposed to be dull and ordinary, and then contrast that to the mass shooting. Showing that it can happen anywhere. But damn is it boring to watch.

Then a ways into it, you see the two kids who do the shooting at home, sitting around, and one of them is playing a video game where it's all white and little black silhouettes pop up, and he shoots them. The name of the movie comes from this picture that's on their wall of an elephant, although you'd never notice it (at least, that's what my friend who was in it says). And then they start making plans and finally jump in the car with all their guns.

They go and shoot all the people, the main couple hides in the freezer in the cafeteria. One of the shooting kids comes in, shoots the other one, and then goes into the freezer, end of movie.

None of it is very memorable, you probably saw the better version. Actually, come to think of it, it may be a different edit that was submitted to some film festivals.

fallen you just made me realize how dumb i am....i looked on the case when we gave it back the guy, and it WAS the edit submitted to some film festivals...i suppose it was actually more like and hour instead of 16min...thats what it SAID (16min), but i swear i think it was an hour....

Yea...alot of those details weren't in the movie. Just like, a few parts of them, but then it switched to something else.

Reviving this totally old topic. I saw this movie for the first time like.. 8 months ago or something.. but i watch it everytime it's on HBO.. cuz it's on late, and it helps me fall asleep Smile I liked it for some reason. Thought I would throw in my totally worthless opinion.

Huh. I liked it too.

Mainly, it's about a simple, average high school day...Except that it's not. And as the day escalates, and you realize already what's going to happen to certain characters at certain times, it becomes evident how much the littlest things can make people snap. The thing I absolutely loved about Elephant was the fact it rewound certain events twice, sometimes three times and showed the each event from a different perspective. I just thought that was really cool. It made you see every aspect of one situation in a new light.

This movie isn't action-packed. It's not a tense thriller. It's just a day in high school that goes wrong. The more you analyze the movie, the more you hate it ( I should know, I spent about a day and a half wondering why the kids massacred people like they did when I realized that it really doesn't matter.) This is more like a documentary. Which is why I found it nice. There wasn't music blaring. There wasn't serious chases or any of that. It was a quiet film. It was different.

The rewinding thing was fine. It was the fact half the movie is spent walking from one place to another. There's slow and then there's needlessly slow. After having to watch two hours of those kids yammering on to each other two times over, I was ready for them to get it.

Did that guy who was developing photos get shot? He takes a picture of the shooters.. then ya can't really tell.. they shoot someone in the area he was standing so i guess so.. it's all blurry though.

What was with that ugly girl in the library?... she was really.. ugly.

Actually, I think that was the best scene for me is when the photo-kid gets shot, only because, I dunno, it really was well done for some reason. The shooter turns around and stares at him, and for a few seconds the two evaluate each other before the camera-kid slowly begins to raise his camera to take a picture. You here a click, and then bam, he's down on the ground.

Yeah, the ugly girl got shot.

Nah.. you hear the click of the camera, then the ugly girl gets shot... then they don't really focus on the others who get shot.. which is why i wasn't sure if the camera guy got shot. The first couple of times I saw the movie I figure they didn't shott him...but he's standing to their left.. and a couple of guys get smoked to their left. So yeah.. i dunno.

Well, I didn't exactly mean to mix up the way the events happen, but it was something to that affect. However, yes, the kid does get shot.

Now you know. Smile
