Since this is an American site, I'd say most here are American- with a few exeptions, of course. Anyway, I live in Ireland, so I have to play camogie for P.E.
(I go to an all-girls school)
Anyway, what I want to know is, does anyone out there play hurling or camogie? For those who don't know, if a team in one of those games has boys and girls, the game is called 'hurling, If it's all boys it's also called 'hurling'. But if a team only consists of girls, the sport is called 'camogie'. In other words, boys cannot play camogie- only hurling. The two gam,es are very similar, so if you don't know what either of those games are about, I suguest asking a friend, or something. It's difficult to explain... Oh and if anyone can explain it, feel free to.

Yes I play hurling! I play it after a night of heavy drinking. If I am hurling with a girl I call it a camogie.

Its a joke, ya girl.

"If we named it full contact golf, hurling would be an international sport" ~ Some GAA slogan or somethin

Okay. I won't take things so seriously next time, then... But it would be good if it became an international sport, though...

Its too rough to be an international sport and since they don't pay the players, its a wonder how it has even kept goin as long as it have in Ireland. They don't get any money and if they do its like a 100 for an All Star or something. Compare that to the Irish soccer Team and theirs wages, in the thousalds or something, and the Irish soccer team is pathetic. Duff and Given are the only real good players

[GAA are robbin bastards]

I do

A hurling team is made up of 15 players, A full forward and Half forward line, mid field and a full back and half back line. Obviously the backs defend and the forwards attack, mid field is a bit of both. You can score a goal by putting the ball [Sliotar] in the back of the net, pass the goalie. You can score a point by putting it over the bar.

1 goal = 3 points

Sliotar
