True story.....
My mom sliped and broke her tailbone.......she then called a lawyer and wanted to sue Shoprite (the store she worked at).
See she came in from her break and there was no rug or Wet Floor sign. She sliped and one of her friends called my dad. One of my dad's friends came in almost sliped and a police officer almost sliped too. My mom got to the hospital and came home that day.
Unfourtanetly the lawyer never called her back so Shoprite was never sued.
Do you think Shoprite should have been sued?
and my mom's tailbone is fully healed so don't say stuff like "So sorry" _________________ |

Christ people are sue-happy.
If you slip on the sidewalk, gonna sue nature? Or the city for not de-icing the streets fast enough? It was an accident, probably some kid who got distracted and forgot to put the sign out, nothing to get millions over.
They slipped, it's not like someone pushed them.
Can't believe people use the court system for crap like that. Here's an idea, let's use lawsuits for, ya know, actual criminal behavior... _________________ "I care about people as much as I care about lawn furniture" - Dexter/Michael C. Hall |

They probably would have insurance anyway for s**t like that, its pretty usual for shops to have insurance for consumer related accidents.
So she would have gotten, what, hospital bills paid for and maybe a few hundred dollars, or euros whatever, in compensation.

It's just an accident. Nobody's fault, I'm sure. The janitor probaly forgot to put the wet floor sign. And i'ts not like your mom's gonna die. If you try to even out the score it will only get worse. Trust me.
It's quite similar to this: If the front door of your house falls on you, when you already know that the hinges are loose, do you try to sue the architect who made the house? People have their own responsibilities. Your mum, her friend, and the officer failed to look down. Sad to say, that it was partially their fault. What happened was just a simple matter and should not be handled in court.
Best regards to your mum. I'll include her in my prayers. _________________ --Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas. But of a humble heart, the Lord wil not scorn, and from its abundance the mouth speaks.

You're mom actually broke her tailbone? I don't even think that's possible. Maybe you mean bruised. |

She probably did. I doubt Erde would over exagurate (sp?) something like that. It can actually be very serious. I'm not sure whether the whole sueing thing would've been such a good idea, though... |

Sound's like someone has never worked at a grocery store before. Listen, you have no clue how long that spill was there, if it was visible from said desks, or if they were to busy to go clean it up.
One does not walk away from a cash register to put up a sign, and it is highly possible that most people were busy.
It was nobodies fault. If you want to go out and blame someone so easily, I can say that mabye your Mother should have been looking where she was walking. _________________

You say 'don't blame anyone', yet you blame Erdey's mum! Regardless, it's the law that there shoud have been a sign there. |

Thanks Dagger.......but you didn't have to do that......
And still every time I go there and see a spill or somethin there is no 'Wet Floor' sign down.......yet when I go to any other store they have them down.

First of all, I didn't blame her. If you had the mental capacity to read what I wrote, I said:
If you want to go out and blame someone so easily, I can say that mabye your Mother should have been looking where she was walking.
Implying that if you wanted to blame them, I can blame her.
Secondly, it is not a law. It is a generaly accepted policy. Big difference.
And still every time I go there and see a spill or somethin there is no 'Wet Floor' sign down.......yet when I go to any other store they have them down.
This is most likely an exageration. though with your idiocy, you mkae think it's true...
But, hey, what the hell. Chances are, if they are in that state, than the policy there is not seen as important. They rely on people having an active mind, and being able to spot spills, and avoid them. Another possibility, is that they are severly underemployed and cannot spare the workers. _________________
