Actually, I live in Canada.
Actually I'm going on the cd, as I paid 20 bucks for it. And frankly all of then sound like Hawthorn heights with just a little more distortion and harder lyrics. Less blunt lyrics. Both bands recent work sucks. HH work has always sucked. I'm going on both pop emo and HH emo, which is the same thing in a nutshell.
That whole post will be disregarded for the comparison of Green Day to Hawthorne Heights.

Anyway. As I said before. I'm not here to argue. You're entitled to you're opinion. If we want a discussion, than we can make a topic for it. I won't, mostly because anyone who can compare two totally distinct bands, without going into detail about how they are actually the same other than saying "they both suck", isn't worth my time. =P
Um... Cosmic you got some of your genra's mixed up.

Zepplin, Doors, and some of Floyd's stuff is Hard Rock. The other are placed right though. But Floyd Should be in classic or hard.
Screw genre. I flippin' HATE people trying to pigeon hole everything. Classic isn't a genre, it's an honorific.
And Floyd and Doors "hard rock"? That's absurd. They're as hard as crisco in a can.

Oh, I forgot to mention "The Doors." Dig them, too.

As to your post/s, Red: I don't like the new Green Day. I mean, they're good, but it just lacks the "omph" they had when they were more original. Now that you have every other "punk rock" group somehow try to mimic them, it makes they're music bleh. I love the old stuff, I really do, but the new Green Day is not for me.

Sorry if that goes against your stereotype.

Hmmm...Have to say I've never listened to Pink Floyd.

Don't kill me.

I don't really have a favourite type of music because I listen to basically everything. So I'm going to say Classic R&B and Classic Reggae. Not the dub reggae or dancehall, I like to be able to understand the lyrics.

I listen to the s**t that winds up getting me mocked.

Instrumental soundtracks, New Age, Classical... My preferred genres. Of course, I'll listen to most other genres, too. Except Rap, Hip-Hop, and such. Just doesn't do anything for me. :/

I prefer punk rock over heavy metal. Though, Classical and Jazz are priorities to me. Gotta love Classics.

Bing Crosby & the Carpenters

Almost anything, except I can't stand rap, preppy pop, and only some types of country do I like.

Mainly I'm any form of rock: classic*, J-rock*, smooth rock, hard rock, heavy metal, all of the above.
Also, tons of techno + trance + heavy techno

Oh! And musicals, I'm obsessed with soundtracks...and I play violin so naturally I like some classical/orchestral. And I like jazz, and blues, but not smooth jazz.

80s emo (the true emo) yes. Fake nowadays stereotypical emo, no. I went to a MCR concert with my friend since it was free for me, but as usual I liked the opening bands better. I always do that. I went to the Omnisoul concert for the opening band (and Omnisoul is from my hometown), and I'll probably go to the KoRn concert just for Diru.

I like all types of music especially hip hop, r&b, and rap. I like a little bit of country. Like .0000000000001%. Country is my least favorite type of music. Wink
