Yeah, well I was just bored and decided to visit the 'ol videogame section. So how many Final fantasies have you beaten in you time? Personally I've gone 1-10 2 but didn't even bother with 11. Didn't like the idea of the online game, and I heard it was a waste of money anyhow.

Final Fantasy I've beaten- 1, 2, 6, 7, and 8! (I am still in the process of playing 4 and 5) Also, FFT and FFTA.

I'm uninterested in FF11 as too. I'm just not so into online games.

Hum... Technically, I guess I've only completed 2/4 (however you number them, the one with the Dark Knight turned Paladin) and 5 (err, the one with the adventuring guy on a Chocobo). I got about halfway on 1, near the final battle on 3 (is it me or do FF games tend to lose their beat the closer you get to the end?) and 8 (there's no way I'm putting up with Squall and Rinoa again to try and finally finish it). Got to the final boss of 7 and was just about to kill it when my comp crashed, at 2am in the morning, over 1 hours away from the closest save point. I never tried again, I was so freakishly frustrated. Haven't tried any of the newer ones.

I haven't actually beaten (or played) any of them, but I would really like to try them out. I heard VII is supposed to be really good. I'd also like to try X, and XIII.

I've only beaten VII. XD I was working on beating VIII, but I got stuck on about the 3rd or 4th disc, I don't remember which.

You say, "3rd or 4th disc." How many discs are there with those games?

Well, VII has 3 and VIII has 4. Laughing I don't know about the others, though, I've only played those two.

It's really not as long as you might think, there's several disks but if your an experienced gamer you can zip right through them.
Most of the Final Fantasy's are very good, but VII is a little overrated. At the time it was created, it probably had the best graphics of any game around, and if you look at the improvement from VI to VII you'll know why it was instantly popular. But, it's not really any better than IX or X (Who both play most similarily to VII). I'm actually quite fond of IX because it got back to the basic FF game's with Garland from FFI and such. Made for an interesting twist.
VIII was seen as a failure because the battle system was unoriginal, and though the graphics were amazing, the gameplay was boring. I actually had to start that one twice because halfway through the first time I decided I didn't feel like playing anymore. Not that the story wasn't good, they just put too much weight on summon spells.
Any of the beginning Final fantasy's are absolute masterpieces, especially FFI. I noticed that they made FFI significantly easier when they remade it for gameboy, which wasn't exactly a bad idea, but just made it less fun for me. It took me three years to beat FFI on the original Nintendo system for two reasons- One being that my Nintendo is really sh*tty as all of them are, and half the time the system decided it didn't want to work, and the gameplay was so hard that before I could even fight one enemy in the first dungeon I had to level up for 2 weeks.
It's really hard to say what Final Fantasy was my favorite, but I was actually quite fond of Tactics. Probably the best, most interesting tactical game ever made.

But, if your a first timer for any Final Fantasy, I really do suggest VII. It may not have been the best, but it's pretty easy, has a lot of secrets to uncover, and doesn't get boring quickly Smile

They are huge. ^_^ I've played almost 80 hours on VII. Although, that's mostly from going around collecting rare items and leveling up. XD

I've beaten FFX & FFX-2. I'm on the last boss in FFIX and FFVIII. I don't own those two I borrowed them from a friend. I got frusterated and reurned them Razz. I'm also on the 2nd disc in FFVII. I think I'm some wheres in the middle of it.

(VII) Overrated or not though, it certainly was almost singlehandedly responsible for opening up RPGs to the mainstream. Smile
Without that game, I wonder how RPGs would be doing in North America today. Surprised

(VIII) I also hated the Junction system. And "Drawing" magic. Everything seemed more complex than it had to be, in my opinion. Or maybe it was because I wasn't too experienced with RPGs at the time.

Anyway, I've beaten V, VI, IX, and X-2. I never beat VII or VIII myself (wasn't very good at the time, and never went back to finish them), but my brother beat them and I just watched the endings there. Razz

And those are the only ones I've played.

Yes, FF8's system was a bit unecessarily complicated, and made magic completely useless. Though, after awhile I got used to it, doesn't change that it was hard at first.

Which ones I have beaten...sadly, only 4, 6, 7, and Tactics. I've also played 5, 8, 9, 10, and 10-2, but I've never finished those. My track record with finishing video games is horrible >.<

Nobody ever mentions 6! 6 is my absolute favorite out of all of them. It had the best cast of characters out of all the FF games, in my personal opinion. It's also the one-and-only game where you can play as a Moogle, and who doesn't love Moogles? ~.^

I thought that 4 was good, but I disliked that you couldn't choose your own party at any point in the game. (Another score for 6--aside from the occasional story event, characters were never "locked" in your party. Not even the main!) In 5, I really liked the battle system (the classes and everything,) but I didn't like the characters very much.

7 was very good--not the best, and I agree it was slightly overrated, but I did very much like it. The Materia system was good, and the Limit Breaks gave the characters an interesting little twist. The characters were fairly good, too--Aeris and Yuffie, gotta love them. I thought that 8, on the other hand, was horrible. Squall bugged the living hell out of me. As did Irvine, Rinoa, Edea (when she was "good,") and half of all the other people in the thing. I liked two things--Quistis, and when Selphie's all "DESTROY EVERYTHING!!" in the Galbadian Missile Base.

9 was fun, but...I don't know...the battle system really lost steam for me after Garnet lost her voice. I wanted to keep going with the story, but I was so bored with the battles that I just stopped playing. The Trance system was annoying as well--it never happened when you needed it to. And I was quite disappointed that you couldn't summon Alexandr. 10 was decent--better than 8--but not as good as 9 and definitely not as good as 6.

And 10-2 was a disgrace to Final Fantasy. The battle system was head-beatingly irritating, and without Lulu, there was no point in playing --.-- Lulu was the best part of 10, and in 10-2 she was gone. Or as good as --.--

Anyway, that's my opinion.

Em..>>;; I never beat any of them.

FFVII: Got stuck on the second disk, first major boss fight on that disk.

FFVIII: The fight against Edea when you're in Galbadia Garden (transformed)

FFIX: Never got into playing it.

FFX: Got stuck on the machine when Yuna starts to go to Seymour to accept his proposal. You know in the snowy place? X_x

FFX-2: I couldn't find what I was supposed to do next. I did what the guides told me to, but it just never worked. x. . . .
