I've seen this person's "vector art" around for a while but I saw the pics and none looked familiar but I had this pic of Shinya from Dir en Grey in my files for a while... Well yeah, it looks exactly like it only vectorized
Have a look for yourself:

Do you think the photograph was just filtered or do you think she eyeballed it? Either way I though copying an image directly was against FAC's policy... _________________ I R GRAMMAR NAZI.

Why do I get the terrible feeling that that's a man?
... anyway.
I think when it comes to drawing real people, an exception can be made on copying, because real people are hard to draw without "directly copying".
Now, if that's what this person did, I'd say fine. I honestly can't tell whether it's just a filtered photo or not. I stuck it through some filters that would have a similar effect, and didn't get anything close. :/ _________________ FAC |

to get that effect, you dont need filters. just transfering it into vector is all you need. after that, just fix it up a bit. there are other artists on fac who do this, and its against our rules, technically. its photo manipulation and edits.
this required NO effort at all. i just imported it into a vector program. depending on what i set the variables to, i could make it look cleaner and more straight. now, after this, all i need to do is little more than touch it up and i'll have that same look. its called trace bitmapping

As a matter of fact he is.
...
So you're saying it is a violation? _________________ I R GRAMMAR NAZI.

That's a very well done vector trace. I think it would make a good wallpaper.
Not sure about FAC's current policy on tracing, but I know there's no photomanips, so..
edit: OFUK, IT'S A TRAP. DAMNIT INDAGO U SPELLED THE COLUR RONG BTW _________________ |

no tracing either, no manipulations, or edits. the furtherst would probably be having an actual photo as a background but with an original drawing as the foreground. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |

Well then, like I said before It looks like a sized down vector trace of that particular image-- they probably saved it low/made mistakes so they made it smaller to hide flaws. :o
And since it's a confirmed violation.. _________________ |

layz will check it out when she gets the time. i'm still unclear about vector tracing myself, its clearly a violation, but its actually hard to tell between a trace and original, but of course it can still be handled like any other suspected tracings. _________________ "edit : i luv james" - Layzcarter |
