Are Signatures Important

Its just i dont have a signature and im woundering weather you really need to put one on your pictures?

Only if you're afraid someone'll steal your art. Most of the artists on this site are in no danger of that, but if you feel the need to do it, you might as well.

YESS!!! It gives your drawing its on uniqueness. Sometimes people identify the art by the artist signiture. Its almost like a form of copyright.

A signature is almost a form of art itself. If you put it in the wrong place or write it wrong you could ruin a perfectly good picture. I perfer not to. I don't trust my handwriting.

I just scribble down my name and first initial of my last name and I'm done. Really you can't read it up I doubt anyone would want to forge it either. XD
I've put my signature in my art since I first started getting into art so it's become a bit of a habit plus, I like to know my art is safer from theft. ;3

Signatures are [i]really[/i] important. Its like a stamp for your art so that people can easily recognize that you did it. Personally, I even include the year in which I made the picture for easy reference later on. Eventually, if people see enough of your art with your signature included, they'll automatically think "Oh, so-and-so made this! That's their signature!"

And, yes, it does deter art theives to some degree, unless they take the time and effort to photoshop it out. <_<

I only put my sigs at the back of my drawings. Rarely do I put 'em on the side where I draw. Uneasy

If someone steals my art though, I'd be ashamed for them. Poor desperate souls... . . . .

I used to. In my art classes, though, you're not supposed to put your signature for various reasons so I've sort of dropped the habit. If I remember, I put them. If not, no big deal.

A signature's not gonna stop a really determined art thief.

Right. If they have Photoshop in their arsenal then they can edit it without a problem.

Well i have a signature just for the fun of it! not because i'm afraid of my art being stolen, i mean you have your art on this site and that is proof of your art AAANNNDDD if you want proof even more there is always the date and time of when you put it on the internet and you should have the original copy of your work!

Truth. Though, honestly, whoever would want to steal another person's art is a complete and total loser. I mean, I'm jealous of some people's beautiful drawing styles, but I'm not going to steal thier art: I'm gonna try to improve my own. A few people have done fanarts of my OC characters, so I'm getting a little scared, but still. I'll live. My notebook's still got the originals. ^_^

Oh, and I love your siggy, Samura_kid! ^_^
