You think anyone who likes a colorful layout for an art site has no taste. You have no respect for such people. Therefore, why do you care if your art doesn't look as good to them? You already have no respect for their opinions.
But I have respect for my art (well, I don't, but let's just say I do...in theory I do...just not so much in practice, given that most is shoved somewhere in folders). And I don't care what they think of my art, I care how it looks.

It's the same logic as people who don't want to see their art turned into ugly tubes and sig banners on Yahoo groups. Even if the only people who ever see it are idiots with no design sense, it's still the art that suffers.

Is the point.

This might sound funny.. but I agree 100% with fallen when it comes to this. I didn't at first, but after reading into both arguements, I gotta say what she is saying makes sense.

That has not been entirely clear in your posts.

Eh...I agree that I'd rather have a more professional look, too. But, a lot of children go to this site, and children have a tendency to be more drawn in my bright colours.

Actually, some art is complimented when you have a colour that makes parts of it stand out. Black is usually the best bet, but dark colours are brought out better against a light pastel colour moreso than black or grey.

Unless I just completely missed the argument.

That's true, and I mentioned that, but since it's a community art site, you can't make a layout for the exceptions. Anything you can matte on white...you can matte on black and still look good. Unless it's like a solid black canvas. But you can't matte everything on white. So... yeah.

Ludichromaphobia: The fear that somehow, somewhere, someone is viewing your artwork against a background of pastel blue and neon pink polka dots.

And this surprises you?

You talk a good game, Jamesy-poo. Real good game.

Go ahead and dismiss these details. All the same to me. The recent uploads and featured art are lookin' real good. Smile

i have NEVER said you were wrong about dark colors...

never said that

but i'm not trying to get people to buy my drawings, and niether is most of FAC. so i could care less about how some kid see's my pictures. shouldn't deprive the community of choice when all they want to do is display their works. even if its on colors they would prefer. But yeah, i see where you're coming from, i just dont agree 100%. besides, there will most likely only be one or two different color schemes to choose from, so there's not much harm. God forbid either of them actually look better than the three or so layouts we've had before this one... or even this new one :x

No, but the dark colors...aren't any good if these other things I've been saying happen. Sure FAC will look better at first glance...soon as the featured pics issue is worked out...and some good artists may sign up...but longevity is important too.

It may seem like all that is disregarding the majority of the site population, but they're already here and will be here regardless, save for a few drama queens that aren't any loss. I thought the point was more than a facelift, as I've said before, else you've just got new colors some people don't care for, and that's it.

We really....really...really need this settled [not on the general forum]. As I've been discussing with some others. This limbo is not going to work. It's weird.

*sighs once*

Fallen... some people don't like too dark schemes with only different scales of grey only... (like i don't, it needs some color on it like some brown or green which don't have to be bright as hell). James and others are trying to create options for everyone in FAC. So stop complaining there and let them do their work and instead of that complaining give them some ideas for them. I am sure that there will be one layout for you too which you like also.

I like the layout how they putted things up, but the colors are not suitable for me. For me as i stated there could be little bit more color on it without need of being too bright tought. Like brown, red or blue, doesn't matter me as long as there is some more color on it than grey only.

Exactly what I was going to say. That is hot. I especially like how it brings out the subtle tones in Brian's skin, clearly you have studied gallery presentation at SAIC.

But...I think House's expression is just a reaction to the colors.

What does he know.

Oh, and little elf, how 'bout you don't make assumptions about things you know nothing about, hm? Not all conversations go on where you can see them. Because sometimes....most times...all times...I don't need your input on what I have to say. Mmmmmk? I have made many many suggestions apart from bitching, hell, a lot of them are in this thread if you could wrap your mind around them instead of boohooing about the color scheme.

I've answered your point five times over, and I'm just now horrified to see it's the EXACT same argument I've been frustrated by in the music forum for two years.
Just because you like something doesn't make it good/skilled
Or in this case, doesn't make it art site appropriate.

*sighs once* 'ere we go again....

First of all.. It is MLE... Secondly, you don't know heck about me.. Third... no wonder they don't see you as much in TFH cause of that kind of bitching (or you don't maybe even excist there cause mixing you to other person perhaps?)....

Aaaand one more thing... you ain't Miss Perfect and never will be, trust me. Now excuse me, i don't fight with 'yadayadayadayada' idiots (and why do i even call you with your username instead of bitch, bitch?). And i've spent 8 years on drawing and can still improve... I've been in artschool and artclass, both 3 years by now and taking art courses in senior highschool now... That's not enough of art for you eh? Yeah, you might be older and more skilled, but i am coming afterwards... And i know what looks skilled in my eyes, I don't know what looks skilled in yours and don't care even a bit from that view you gloomy bitch... Oh, and note that i am after couple months 17, CHILDISH BITCH! So.. yeah, don't call me child there you lil one bitch.

For other fellas, excuse me for using that kind of tongue.
