No Char. Sheets

i never tell how my character looks in a RP, just when i write stories, so, why can't i make a sheet?! it'd make my life easier!

Because them's the rules.

- When you have 10 people in an RP posting 640x480 or 800x600 sized pictures of their character, that really chews up the bandwidth for us dial-up users.

- You don't RP by posting pictures, so it's actually more consistent to describe them as text. Remember, you don't [b]need[/b] to cover every last little detail about their appearance. Just cover the important points.

- It's good practice to help you improve your writing skill. RP's rely on writing skill no less than stories do.

Thing. It's very unimaginative, you have to describe your character, not just throw them into the RP.

Because RPing isn't supposed to be easy, its a way for authors and writers to practice their skills and get better, building a character sheet is fairly easy, anyone can do it, but it takes at least a little bit of skill and effort to write a paragraph or two about how your character looks....

I think that making something like:
"Age:17
Name: Jason
Looks: Green eyes and Brown hair.
Powers: unlimited magical and physical strenght."
Bio: Parents died and he can't take decisions for himself, lives in an orphanage and wants to kill the principal.

Sucks a lot more than writing....

"He was in the between his teens and his early adulthood, being seventeen wasn't easy for Jason, most of his classmates kept mocking him about how weak he looked and acted, alawys recieving orders wasn't his favorite thing to do. Since his parents had died three years ago he was just another one in the orphanage down on Emplaut Street but that was about to change, or at least thats what he thought...

Suddenly a bell rang, he had to go back to his room, time to sleep, nine o'clock was too early for all of them, but they had to follow the rules. He walked up the stairs, opened the big ash wood door, layed his brown hair over the pillow, and closed his eyes. Not to sleep, but to wait for the time to come...."


Right?
I think that proves the point...

Wow, that's...that's sad....I've just never seen anyone so completely clueless about roleplaying. Sorry if I'm harsh, it's just that I've roleplayed for over two years. I know, I act like I know everything, I'm a jackass, yada yada. See, typing out descriptions is what's fun about roleplaying, because you can be as creative as you want. Oh, and so you know, that was definitely not godmodding(sp?) or powerplaying.
