I used to have a nightmare over and over and over every night for about two weeks. It was about me falling down the stairs not falling actually but gliding over them i never knew what happened at the end untill one day i was around a friends and then i fell/glided over the stairs and smacked my head on the floor.
Anybody else have dreams/nightmares that then come true?

Freaky. People always seem to wake up seconds before the worst can happen. Well, I can't realli say 'worst'; i mean it's just a dream.
Anybody else have dreams/nightmares that then come true?
It's happened to me, but the only things that would come true would be what people actually say in my dream and not what they do. It's like deja-vu. Although, there was one time when I dreamed I was playing this particular game and surprisingly that particular game came out a couple years later and I played it! How bout that? Btw, as a child, I'd have a lot of dreams involving gliding down the stairs; it's a weird feeling. |

I have dreams of being captured and tortured horrendiously, and no, I do not wake. o.o; It's quite, quite disturbing to sit there and watch yourself being drilled and cut into.. I've had it both 1st person, where I'm sitting there, being tortured, and then 3rd person, where I'm sitting there on the other side, and watching in horror as I'm tortured.
Then I have dreams about gangs writing on my house in blood, which scared me, so, one night that I didn't have to be alone, I went to a party at a local middle school. I was in a car, and the guy driving me suddenly pulls out a gun as I get out to enter the school, and shoots the gas tank of the car as I run by it, and get my arm blown off, along with about half of my face. So, I'm limp running towards my house, and I can hear the screams and yells of my friends from the school as it's too being attacked and blown up, and my English teacher calls me into a random house, and treats my wounds before aliens come (Think a lot like War of the Worlds) and start destroying everything.. And finally I die because I get hit by a car while trying to run away from aliens. XD I have a feeling my brain does not like me.
When I was younger, I would have dreams where I'd jump off cliffs, and awake only when I was about to hit the bottom, but it felt like I fell back into my own body. Like.. my spirit came out or something. It was really weird. I'd get this tingly feeling in my hands and feet, I would be panting, sweating, pale, and sometimes shaking. It didn't matter if I knew I was asleep or not, I couldn't wake myself at all.
Then, during testing of this year, we'd go into a separate room to test. So, I was in a room with like.. 15 other people. After the testing, I'd always sleep, because I could never fall asleep until like, 2 or 3 in the morning. Well, everytime I fell asleep in that classroom, I would start twitching and screaming in terror in my sleep, and I couldn't be awoken until Angel or one of my other friends threw water on me or pushed in hard on the pressure points of my neck. Then it would be like when I was little again, panting, sweating, pale, shaking, numbness. But I could never remember what had happened to make me so scared. But when I slept out of that classroom, I was usually fine. =/ I never experienced something like that anywhere else, unless I was in that speific classroom or at my old house. It was really weird. |

My most disturbing dream as of late was approxamitely the following:
A family (as far as I can remember, it was just a man, woman, and a daughter [around 6 years old or so]) were having a look around a house they were thinking about buying & moving into... it's pretty much empty, very clich horror-type home (large, gothic architecture etc) - they're walking about , being given a tour and stuff... they come to the living room which has nothing in it but a big fire-place with one of those protective gratings on it. The parents and the guide walk through into another room, but the little girl thinks she sees something in the fireplace, so goes to it to investigate - she gets closer & closer, trying to see what's in there, when suddenly something (I didn't see/imagine what it was) grabs her hair and pulls her head & face into the gratings of the fireplace, which had somehow now become razors of some description... blood-curdling screams of agony, blood all over the place, her parents trying to help her out but unable to pull her from this thing's grasp... just constant grating on the fire...
It wasn't particularly pleasent, and I've no idea where it sprung from, but the screams & violent flashes of her face with blood and scars and the like was fairly nightmarish.
I've not detailed this well... but I just don't feel like being more literate/specific.
Ah, and I have a lot of dreams about kickboxing while wearing ice-skates... lots of faces get cut, limbs chopped off etc... but those dreams are not bad, as I'm the one doing the beating (usually in a brilliantly unrealistic Tekken-Dragonball style). |

Wow, that's something. Must have been freaky to watch; at least you didn't feel any pain, right?
XD I have a feeling my brain does not like me.
Naw, I blame television.

I know what you mean; I used to have that same dream, except whenever I fell, it's like I was falling in slow motion, y'know? So, i really wasn't scared; however, there was one time when I found myself tumbling toward a pit of lava. I woke up AFTER I fell into it. lol.
I never experienced something like that anywhere else, unless I was in that speific classroom or at my old house. It was really weird.
Wow, that is pretty strange. I remember having to go into separare rooms to test; God, I was SO restless. I couldn't stop tossing and turning in my chair. I hate SATs. :x It's only been a year since I've graduated, so I still remember everything clearly.
It wasn't particularly pleasent, and I've no idea where it sprung from, but the screams & violent flashes of her face with blood and scars and the like was fairly nightmarish.
Definitely doesn't sound pleasant, especially if it's a little kid that's in such a dilemma. Well, in my book I plan to leave the kids alone. But yeah, very nightmarish.
I've not detailed this well... but I just don't feel like being more literate/specific.
Don't worry; I don't necessarily need to hear every single piece of detail, especially if the dream gets gory like that.

See? Don't you feel better already? I get dreams like that too. |

I had a dream I was the Grim Reaper, once...Some preppy girls were getting me really annoyed and I killed them.
Another time I was a fox-creature, and some kids were chasing me, trying to trap me. I flew onto a high building and then when I couldn't fly anymore, they closed in on me...one of them leapt at me and fell, but I caught his hand. For some reason, I looked at him and then let him drop =|
But my creepiest -nightmare- would have to be one where I was going around to strange places in and outside of my city...and when I was going on some weird railroad cart (the things you pump), out of nowhere zombies started closing in all around, and grabbing at me...some were only half bodied. I ran out of there pretty quick, and ended up running home with zombies coming after me on the way. I got into the house and there were zombies, so I ran into my room and hid in my closet...one came in and started pounding on it while I held it shut.
When I woke up, I was sleeping the wrong way on my bed, 'cause of being so restless. My feet were on my pillow D: _________________ |

I blame your avatar for that one.

*snickers and smirks* I'm just speechless.

I blame Silent Hill and/or Resident Evil. Yeah, I've woken up on wrong ends of the bed before, but have you ever actually found yourself on the floor? I have. |

I think the thing that sort of frightens me about my dreams is I tend to have what you would call "nightmares" but I'm not worried or panicked at all about it in the dream- or when I wake up for that matter.
The last one I remember was a zombie dream, I was armed with an AK47 and had to gun down a lot of my friends and my entire family. I don't remember a lot of details, but it ended up with me and a few other people being trapped in a confined area and one of us had been bitten. I shot myself in the head to avoid becoming a mindless zombie. Right before I woke up I saw my brains splattered all over the floor and my broken and bleeding body as the now-zombie survivor rushed at me.
Yes... disturbing I know. After that one I just felt plain sick more than anything else.
I doubt that helps... hahaha. |

Disturbing, yet very interesting! Believe me, I understand the difference between what's scary and what's just plain gross. The Silent Hill games for example, I wasn' scared; just disgusted. Yeah, despite the mediocre graphics. |

It's not considered a nightmare unless you wake up from it scared/are really scared or disturbed in your dream. Otherwise, it's just a disturbing dream ;O
Nightmares are characterized by you actually waking up because you get scared.
There was a time that I had nightmares for 2 weeks straight =|
Most of them consisted of someone coming after me...'cause in my dreams, it's not dying that scares me, but the people coming for me.
The main antagonists in my dreams are bears...I'm not even afraid of bears ;
I always seem to have dreams with them coming after me, or hiding in the dark.
Actually, a dream I was wondering about (not a nightmare), is one where I swallowed a fish hook...and inside my mouth looked like a fish's insides. I pulled on the hook, but it was stuck in my throat. I pulled harder and it turned into chains with a padlock at the end...I wonder what it meant _________________ |

I began to think u dreamed you were a fish caught by a fisherman's hook, but then I got lost on the padlock and chains-part. Well, I had a dream I couldn't understand, either. I was in my room, it's a really confined area. It was a dark night. I turned my eyes away from the door for just one second, and suddenly it appeared that my leg desk mysteriously moved in front of my door, barricading it. Then my lamp went out, and it was pitch-black. I groped for the lamp, fighting to turn it back on, but the damn thing wouldn't work. While I struggled, I heard bloodthirsty growling emitting from all directions. I woke up before I could figure out what it was. I must admit...I was a wee disappointed, but at the same time, it realli freaked me out and I was glad it was just a dream. |

Sounds like there was something disturbing you =O
I have weird, creepy dreams that make no sense.
I dreamt that I had to save some princess from this containment chamber for someone. She was really sick, with a disease that turns you into gelatin if you're out of water for too long =|
I didn't believe the disease existed, so I went through these chambers picking the locks, and eventually got to hers and opened it, taking her out of the water....and suddenly my limbs started going all see-through. Then, I tried to escape but I kind of melted =| _________________ |

Huh, video-game influence, maybe?
Sounds like there was something disturbing you =O
Well, this particular dude in college has a crush on me, but there's a big chance he could be too old for me (yikes!) Maybe that's it. Although the situation started AFTER I had the dream... Maybe the dream was a warning? You just never know.

I never have nightmares, just really, really odd dreams. Like "Here, Kelly! We need to take all your organs out so that they can get some air." "Souds reasonable to me, it's about time I took my organs for a walk!" and then I'll walk around in a weird dream world full of neon green grass, overcast grey skies, and plexiglass buildings with red piping with my handfulls of guts.
It's weird, almost all of my dreams have the bright green grass, stormy skies, and plexiglass buildings.... _________________

Wow, that's interesting. Sounds very abstract, althought I do question the "guts' part. I get a lotta odd dreams myself, but I can hardly remember them once I wake up. I just wake up confused and I'm like "The hell was that...?" |

I have many nightmares, most of them Silent Hill type, but the worst involves teeth and shart objects...because I worry about my teeth too much for some reason... <__<__> |

actually, dreams when you lose your teeths (or however it is spelled) are suppose to mean that you are going to lose something or someone important for you. I think it is true cause I dreamed that I lost all my teeths once and a week later my grandpa died so I hope I never dream about that again. |
