Well, if you were raised on classics...Duff and Slash are very classic. It's educational! You're learning about the progression of a musician's art as it happens!

There is a parental advisory...but that just makes it better....or something like that.

lol! i'm sorry. why do moms have such weird taste in music? my dad likes cool classic rock and broadway tunes and some reggae, while my mom likes irish music, country, opera, and (ahh!) christian crap. they were alive during the time of amazing music, so why can't they appreciate it? good luck getting the cd, tho

My mom was never really into music (not enough to buy records or anything. She kinda liked the random sappy pop love ballad every now and then).

I've officially turned her into a fan of Poison, Billy Idol, Warrant, and a handful of other groups. Enough to make her want to see Poison in June. *tear* I'm so proud.

'Least neither of my parents ever liked the Christian stuff. 'Cause we aren't religious. It's funny to listen to her complain and make fun of the super "Christian" lady she works with (who goes out on weekends and gets drunk, has been in multiple abusive relationships, is dealing with a stalker ex husband who hates her new boyfriend...such a good Christian).

oo good for you, fallen! nice job converting your mom. i did a similar thing with my cousin, who used to love britney and nsync and whatnot, so i turned her on to good music. now she loves a lot of metal, rock, and grunge bands like nirvana, korn, led zep, kittie, the doors, and the pixies. and she'll occasionally let a punk/emo band slip in there, like brand new.

lol! such a good christian, right! feh one of the really big things that bothers me about the catholic church (and many other religions) is the tremendous hypocrisy. argh.

Yep. Cool I did what my father couldn't. Well, he could have if he liked 80s bands. He stopped paying attention and buying records after the 70s. Got married n' all that. She hates most of the bands he liked in his college days. Grateful Dead, Cooper, etc. Sad

Dragging them back from the grave just to remind people the album came out today, and it kicks ass. If you want my full review, see the "Rate it!" thread. It's rumored they may debut at #1 on the charts and that sales are exceeding predictions, so let's keep it going, eh? Give 'em some staying power. Cool

Ah yes, they play that song constantly on the radio (at least my station) and I've seen the video more than a few times between mtv2 and yahoo music...

I personally love it, I plan on getting the c.d., but that's only when I can the money for it....

The sad thing was, when we first saw the music video, I sat there racking my head trying to figure out who they all were (not the band, but who made it up), and it was my mom who came in 5 minutes later and named them all off instantly.... WTF?
