I have some sugguestions for Fanart, I want to know if they are good ideas.

I think Fanart...

-should have a rule that says no one can copy a picture because some people trace and won't admit it. They would even swear on the Holy Bible that they didn't trace even though they did. Some people are unbelievable, and there are people like that out there.

-should have a "New Characters" section in each tv show and anime because there are almost always new character appearing, but it takes a while to find and make a new section for that character. Some people are confused where to put there picture and it's harder to find that certain character.

-should have a "Original Manga" section for artists who want to submit their own original manga, because mangas are very popular and a lot of people are intrested in it. The catogories will most likely be similar to the one in Miscellaneous. The Mangas will have a picture cover and chapters like the stories.

I don't agree. While copying already existing official art may seem lame it is a wonderful way to learn how to draw. In fact, it is how I learned. I agree that tracing is lowely but why should you care if someone else does it? It also really helps some people. (I never traced btw, it's better to learn by looking at a picture and trying to draw it exactly) You can make the personal choice to ignore that type of art. Also, suposidly the site is figureing something out with quality control so this should be less of a problem later.

also, as for the thing about mangas, I'm not completely sure I know what you are saying, but there aready is a section for origional comics on the site.

forgive me if I sound rude or anything, it's not my intention. ^.^

Far as tracing goes, it's pretty easy to prove by overlaying the two images in photoshop. If we find it, we delete it. As Blade said, redrawing an image is perfectly fine for learning, and as long as credit is given to the original picture, there's no harm in letting it stay. Since FAC is largely made of beginners in the first place.

Already do. The proper term is "Fan Characters", and we already have such categories for many anime, cartoon, & video game series. Places where we don't, are because of low volume or demand.

Already do (sort of). 'Anime/Manga > Original > Original Manga (doujinshi)', and 'Comics > Original Comics (doujinshi)'.

First Paragraph- I guess you're right about that, but when I look at a picture and draw another version of it I keep those practice pictures in a folder, where they will always be.

Second Paragraph- I mixed up "Fan Characters" for original characters based on that show or anime.

Third Paragrah- I meant mangas made up by the artist, like creating an original manga of their own. It's like the stories, but a picture version. The mangas aren't based on other animes.

So did I. Comics based on existing anime, manga, or series are called "fan comics", and we do have "Fan Comics" sections listed as subcategories under various anime and cartoon shows. The 'Anime/Manga > Original > Original Manga (doujinshi)' and 'Comics > Original Comics (doujinshi)' categories are for completely original manga which is not based on a specific series.

A quick general suggestion to drop in:

Content advisories do not (necessarily) need to be filtered when viewing one's own gallery page. Easiest method might simply be that, when a user is viewing their own gallery, it uses the "warning thumbnail" option by default; for everyone else, it uses the viewer's profile settings (hide from view or warning thumbnail).

I work with the theory that if people are submitting content of a certain rating, they probebly want to view content with that rating.

Yeah, the other version of this idea is simlpy to not apply filters at all when viewing one's own gallery. I don't know just how many times we've had to point out the FAQ topic about this....

I have a sort of odd suggestion, especially for a first post, and I sent an email to the FAC staff about it but I probably did it wrong. SO..

I wanted to start an open RPG on Fanart-Central with anyone who would like to join. I was pretty sure I would have to ask permission to do this sort of thing, so I decided to stay on the safe side and ask anyhow. The problem is mainly the username and password deal, because all the participants will all have to sign on to the same one (If I have permission, then I will post that specific name and password in the RPG page so everyone will know it). I just wanted to know if that was alright.

If you would like an example of how I would set the RPG page up, just let me know... but please consider it. ^_^

A roleplay? That's what we set up the "General Roleplaying" forum section for, give it a look.
